stop telling us to contact a game advisor and change the stipid origin system to give us some control over what we do.
- I have my gamertag stuck on an account i can log into but i cannot access the email to verify it so id like to remove the gamertag from the account. How do i do that? (I am currently signed into the account id like to remove the gamertag from)
@EA_Dennis wrote:Hi, unlinking accounts is currently only possible for Game Advisors. Please contact one of them via live chat or phone at https://help.ea.com/contact-us for further assistance.
Also on a general note, you should not create a new account, all your game entitlements are tied to your account and by simply changing to a new account you might lose access to all your previous games. If the email address for your account is no longer in use, you can get it changed to a new one by contacting a Game Advisor.
In this case I would strongly suggest to get the email address of your old account changed to a new one, instead of continue playing with the newly created Origin account.
I was just told that "This option is no longer available" and that "they removed our button for this" by the Game Advisor I just talked to.

LOL,
I just spent almost 2 hours with some tool basically trying to achieve the same as everyone else.
Hadn't logged into Origin or played Battlefield 4 for almost 6m I guess and my email address has changed since. Was able to update and validate my new email address in Origin, but now my XB gamertag is still associated with the old address.
The guy kept asking me for 3 or 4 games associated with the old email address. I don't remember that. I rattled off a bunch of EA games I've played but I guess some were not associated with Origin so since I couldn't name exactly 4 that were, he wouldn't do anything.
I can understand security controls to prevent fraudlent account activities but not empowering the owner of an Origin ID to login and manually manage Xbox gamertag links is dumb.

But what do you do if u your xbox live tells u that the acount is invalid and origns tells that ur email is linked to another acount and you dont have a clue what to do? ☹️

This is an old thread, but keeps popping up in Google Search. As of 5/31/2015 EA Game Advisor stated to me that it is NO LONGER POSSIBLE to UNLINK an XBOX Live or PSN ID from any Origin Acct. So, we're all basically screwed...Thanks EA....
BUMP...
I need to unlink my account but am told that if I unlink the account and re add it then I will loose all my career and data for all EA games including BF and FIFA
WTF fix up EA
Also told the reason why I cant play my friends is because my friends limit exceeds 50 on my Xbox live gamer tag
DELETED everyone on my Origin friends list and the list is now empty.Advised to delete 300 Xbox live friends list to bring this below 50 in order to play online multiplayer with any EA game as apparently according to EA you can only play with your friends on Xbox live providing your Xbox friends list is below 50
What a load of ole TOOSH!
PLEASE HELP
