Is the Premium code in Battlefield 3 Premium Edition (Xbox 360) region free?

Hi All.

I have a friend who is going to Hong Kong to buy some video games. According to play-asia's compatibility guide, the Hong Kong version of Battlefield 3 Premium Edition is compatible with PAL consoles e.g Australian and European consoles. The game or disc itself is compatible, but I'm not sure about if the Premium code in the box is compatible with an Australian Xbox Live account.

Would the Premium code still work with Australian Consoles?

    No it's not, but an easy workaround (on PS3.....) is to create a profile ID under the country the code has been issued for, and claiming it with that profile. then, you should be able to download the content from your usual profile ID.

    As far as I am aware, Xbox do no region lock there products like Sony do. You'd have to contact Microsoft to confirm this though.

    I know for a fact that some Xbox games are indeed region free as I have some and they work on both US and Australian consoles. I'm not quite sure about DLC codes, should I contact Microsoft or EA?
