No Multiplayer mode in Battlefield 3?

I bought a  Battlefield 3 at the shop not Steam or Origin,just at the shop,proper disk.I Install the game,woks fine,able to play.But when I see the main menu,It doesn't have Multiplayer or Coop mode just Campaign.I log in Origin,go to Battlelog,multilayer section and join server.After that,it says  ''You need a soldier to join this server''. How to create a soldier IN a game when there is NO multiplayer mode? I know it's a stupid and dumb question,include me but at least you can help me.......
