[PC] Rock and a Hard Place: Stinger missing!

PC---- Rock and a Hard Place Stinger missing!!!!!!!!!!!! HELP ASAP PLEASE

Hi all,

Sorry for the small delay in my response. As xgah already pointed out, we have now fixed the bug in single player where you couldn’t pick up the Stinger in mission 10. Patches were rolled out on all platforms in all regions. On console, these updates are automatic and mandatory. Full details below:

PS3 client patch
Delivery:
Mandatory automatic update when you start the game

Fixes:
* SDTV input lag
* Game breaking SP bug in mission 10 (picking up the Stinger)

Xbox 360 client patch
Delivery:
Mandatory automatic update when you start the game

Fixes:
* Game breaking SP bug in mission 10 (picking up the Stinger)

PC client patch
Delivery:
Origin client auto update if you have not un-checked “Keep my games up to date” (in which case you need to tell the Origin client to check for latest update for BF3)

Fixes:
* Game breaking SP bug in mission 10 (picking up the Stinger)
* Additionally fixes bug where world would end on Dec 21

i am quoting somone elses answer to the problem

We are investigating some reports about PC user having this issue.
If you having this glitch, please provide us the data about your system. We are looking actually how many PC users are suffering from this issue and working on a solution.

It might have something to do with XPack4, so maybe this might help:

1: Open battlefield 3 folder – go to update folder
2: Cut xpack4 and paste to desktop.
3: Run origin and then run battlefield.
4 Select campaign and go to mission select
5 Start Rock and a hard place and see if mission will complete correctly (i.e giving access to the stinger)

Been trying the EA generated response to no avail. You wouldn't think that it would be that hard to find the mistake and release another patch. I'll enclose a copy of my dxdiag as requested in the EA post.

I am currently near the end of the mission "A Rock and A Hard place", at the part where I need to grab the Stinger and fire down the enemy aircraft.
However, when approached the growler, there isn't any stinger on the floor. This is my 2nd time playing the mission (the first was when i just started the game and palying on Easy).
I've tried restarting the mission but it doesn't solve the problem. Any solution or answer to this?

Alright I just realised that there's a thread to this problem and they are working on it. Will wait until the problem is solved. :D

i deleted patch and xpack1 but not fix ! ..PC copy only have xpack1
