playing battle field 3 on multiplayer

when I try to play battle field 3 on my pc on multiplayer for the first time , and join a server

this comes up

"You need to be online with your PC soldier hamishphillips to remotely join friends or servers. When Battlelog is connected to the game, the blue Unified Game Manager bar will be shown in the bottom of the screen"

Are you launching BF3 via Origin or via the Battlelog webpage? Do you play BF3 on more than one platform such as on PC and Xbox?
