Playing Premium Battlefield 3 with non-premium friend

Dear EA/Origin, Hello, I recently purchased Battlefield 3 Premium Edition for the Xbox 360, mainly so that I could play with a friend from Xbox Live who also owns Battlefield 3, though I cannot seem...

I see your problem OP, you are using the base model slim with the 4GB storeage, and in order to play on all of the expansion packs you need at minimum of 9.5 GB of HDD space.  You also need the latest patch which is sounds like you haven't downloaded since you can't join your friend even on vanilla BF3 maps due to running an incompatible (ie out of date) version of BF3.

Here is what you must do when you purchase Premium and have a larger HDD (a new 320GB Xbox 360S HDD can be bought on Amazon for $45 instead of the $120 normally seen).

After you purchase Premium and redeem both the online pass and the Premium code and your Premium file downloads to your console make sure that you restart BF3 so the game initializes with the Premium file present.  When you get to the main title screen you will receive a pop up stating you are now premium and you will have a Premium background.  Next you will have to download the DLC expansions covered by Premium (the file just gives you access to download them but doesn't download them for you) via the Premium tab of the BF3 in game store (not via the Xbox Live Marketplace or it will charge you money again)then close BF3.  After all 5 expansions completely download (this could take a while since each expansion is about 2 GB) start BF3.  At the main menu you will receive a series of pop ups stating that you now have each expansion.  Now from the main menu go to multiplayer, open server browser and then open the server browser filter by clicking R3 and check all new maps and game modes or you won't find any games on the new expansions.

    Mandatory Files:

    Battlefield 3 Title Update (Auto-Download) - 201 MB

    Muiltiplayer Update 6 - 2.0 GB

Minimum HDD space require to play Multiplayer:  2.2 GB

    DLC Specific files:

    End Game - 1.8 GB

    Aftermath - 1.6 GB

    Armored Kill - 1.6 GB

Multiplayer Update 3 (Close Quarters) - 2.4 GB

Battlefield 3 Update (Back to Karkand) - 2.1 GB

HDD space required to play ALL the DLC:  9.5 GB
