please clarify ea's terms and conditions

on the terms and conditions it states

Ranked Server Administrators:
If you are an administrator of a ranked Battlefield 3 server (referred to below as a "Server Administrator"), you must also comply with the EA Online Terms and Conditions.
Server Administrators are in violation of the EA Online Terms and Conditions if they enforce server rules on ranked servers that prohibit or severely limit players from using any roles, kits, weapons, vehicles, or other features of the game while playing on their server. Examples of such rules that would violate the EA Online Terms and Conditions include:
  • Running knife / pistol-only servers
  • Preventing players from using certain weapons or items (such as flash bangs or C4) or enforcing a "pistol only" or "knife only" server rule
Server Administrators may implement and enforce rules that result in minor changes to gameplay behavior or styles as long as these are clearly stated before a player starts playing on a server. These rules typically introduce minor or limited restrictions on how a certain aspect of the game can be used, but do not create or promote an environment that would allow abuse of the scoring/award system. Examples of such rules that are acceptable are:
  • Disallowing repeated main base camping/attacking of bases that cannot be captured.
  • Limiting the use of mortars to a particular region of the map.
Server Administrators will also violate the EA Online Terms and Conditions if they (i) use offensive server names, server art or clan tags; or (ii) encourage other players to violate the EA Online Terms and Conditions while in game.

now admins still make custom rules for ranked servers. it clearly states that they can have custom rules for private or public but when it comes to ranked they cannot make up custom rules. every ranked server out there has custom rules are they all in breach of ea's terms and conditions?

the hole comunity are very annoyed with abusive and cheating admins and i just want to make sure i have grounds to report them if the terms and conditions mean what they say they mean

    Hmmmm....

Im playing on PS3 and I dont have a problem to find a full DICE server.

If you're using XBOX, bad luck mate.

  • You can collect a group of friends or clanmates before joining a server, it should slowly fill up if there are more than 6 people on it.

Depends on the map and gamemode.

6 players playing at Canals TDM: less than a minute and the server is full.

OP Firestorm: May take over 15 min to get it full.

Make sure you are playing on servers in your region as well. I think a lot of admins ban you for killing them because of the way it was done. Getting shot through what seems to be walls to them might be getting you kicked. Or if an admin shoots you first like 4 times and you run off without any damage on the killcam or your health bar turns admins off.

  • That's mainly due to the fact that only a very few admins understand how Battlefield 3 acutally works.

  • As it is possible to report players (eg. for cheating), Battlelog should feature a button to report a server, because very often it's not possible to distinguish, who actually is a/the server admin.

I recently had a situation, where our whole team was killed five times in a row, because the other team wasn't able to take any flags for minutes (nope, no one camped their base, but we defended the flags very well) and the second "nuke" took place before anyone of us reached the first flag on our way to the previous frontline. After that, half of my team left the server and we lost.

Other situations were being kicked and banned without a warning for throwing a grenade, being killed for "we have enough snipers on this map" or being kicked for "cheating" because the best of the other team -he had the clan-tag of the server (hmm, might be an admin)- wanted to become MVP1.

So there should be a way to report servers with admins that are

    • enforcing pointless or childish rules, like "No claymores, no frags, no snipers, no c4, no shotguns, no flashlight" (except very rare exploits, like the overpowered M26 Dart a while ago)
If claymores, etc. are concidered "unfair" or whatever, why should DICE have programmed them?
    • killing for own advantage [revence, MVP1, etc.]
    • or using agressive server-scripts, that for instance switch the same player in the other team multiple times a round (The call that "balance") or auto-ban-bots: I misstyped Javelin as Jewlin and was banned ("racist").

Additionally, I'd like to see admins to warn a player before kicking, if they enforce a rule, they didn't write into the description. So there is a possiblity to save the gaming experience.

    Terms and conditions Summary

Instead of EA/Dice paying for servers you get to.

But they still control them... sounds like a great deal.
