I know that I have done everything from reinstalling to updating to even port forwarding. I have added BF3 manually and updated punkbuster countless times.
I have found that my game randomly will work one day and completely fail the next. There is clearly something wrong with either my PC or Punkbuster although I highly doubt it's the former as a few months ago I didn't have this issue at all.
Its definitely Punkbuster, Evenbalance dropped support for BF2 awhile back and now I get this HARD error. I suspect EA put pressure on Evenbalance to do this so they could push their newer, overpriced drivel games on gamers. Yell at them you will not buy anything and watch them "reintroduce" what never should have gone away in the first place. Sixty bucks for a game? Seriously? Not me. Look for $100 games soon.
