Re: Battlefield 6 Info (BATTLEFIELD)

@GrizzGolf  @Player55

Ok so obviously rumours nothing confirmed, but a solid source.

  • The new Battlefield will be simply called BATTLEFIELD
  • Set 10 years from now, so looking to be a little futuristic but not too much.
  • Expect drones, typical aircraft, tanks etc but obviously with more advanced and realistic tech.
  • There will be no hub for all battlefield titles like a previous leak said there would be.
  • The campaign is going to be pretty damn good by the sounds of it:

'The game will feature a revolutionary campaign compared to other previous installments. The campaign will focus on you and your specialist unit, where you’ll be able to chose which superpower you fight for. In BATTLEFIELD, there isn’t necessarily “Axis and Allies” as you will be able to chose your own path. Both the USA and Russia, who are the games only standing superpowers, will offer to “recruit” your specialist team and their skills throughout the campaign, which will be a valuable asset to both sides. It would also appear like this year’s campaign is a co-op experience.'

  • Reveal trailer is not going to show any gameplay at all, just a big cinematic.
  • There will be a Battle Royale but It's looking unlikely it will be at launch and it will be completely disconnected from Firestorm with a fresh new name etc.
  • As mentioned before we will have the 4 classes but it's now looking like we will also be gaining 'abilities' that work in a similar way to how CoD Perks work.

That hub idea did sound to fantastical to be true.

Yeh a hub would be pretty nice tbh, it would be a nice way to bring the community back together.

@CarbonCarl Oh it'd be an incredible feature, especially if we could run older BF titles through it or even mix titles together (I think the rumour on Reddit mentioned that?). Maybe one day 🙂

@ElliotLH Definitely, mixing titles would be a ton of crazy fun. I can’t wait until we get some good official information because I’m itching lol

    More from yesterday’s rumours:

    • BATTLEFIELD is a sequel to Battlefield 4
    • Your specialist unit consists of soldiers from the other fallen superpowers that are not USA/Russia.
    • Although no gameplay in the reveal trailer we should see some of the new Levolution in cinematic action.

I wonder if the class system will stay true to BF3/4?? Weapon wise I mean. I didnt like medic with the SMG in V.

A part of me wouldn't mind getting some cross-class weapons again. I think that would make balancing a bit of a challenge though.

  • I'm pretty excited about the idea of an immersive Coop campaign.  My Son and I would have a field day with that.

  • For a class enthuasist... a sort of purist... inside me would like to say no to all-kit primaries and gadgets. Then again, I haven't had a field day ever since my career started. Don't like the idea of homogeneous classes 😞

Battlefield 1 came closest to that state. Re-installing it right now 😎

The discussion is about all class weapons. The idea that every class could have carbines, auto snipers, SMGs, shotguns made for poor balance that often had to be fixed by the community through server plugins.

  • @DingoKillr wrote:

Considering BF3 and 4 are the only games in the series to have all class weapons, I would agree.

Due to the recon persecution, the only chance recons have to get anything good is for other classes to have access to it too ☹️

I am quite serious about the recon persecution part. in BFV none of the bolt action weapons of the recon had straight pull bolt and every scope had a glint. Meanwhile the medic bolt action weapons had both straight pull bolt and no glint. If that is not bias then I do not know what it is.
