Re: Can't download Battlefield 1, due to files in use

Hey, @DarkAmaranth1966, thanks again for all of your help. I uninstalled Daemon tools cause I wasn't using it ever and I also unplugged any and all things that I did not need to see if that would help.

I did another Clean Boot and did what you said. I turned off my firewall and ran Origin as an administrator. Unfortunately that did not fix the problem. The same error message came up again. And I still cannot move forward in my download. I don't know if I mentioned this earlier but it download the full game (40.39 GB) but it will not patch in the final 7 GB. I don't know any other programs that would share a .dll, so I am lost on what to do next.

Again thank you for all of your help, even if none of the proposed solutions have worked it as still been good to finally be able to at least try something to fix the problem. So thank you for that.

  • @DarkAmaranth1966,

    I don't know anymore.

I used the system file checker and it found no damaged files that it had to fix. After that I once again did a clean boot and looked in the task manager for anything that did not look like Origin or windows, I did not find anything their either though there could be a file I am missing somehow (Is there a way to check for that)? I honestly have no idea what to do anymore. You have helped me so much and I shouldn't ask for anymore but do you have any more ideas I can try?

Once again thank you so much for your help!

    I figured out the problem.

It was one lonely corrupted/unreadable file in the Battlefiled 1 directory that would let me delete it. So I scanned my drive and it got rid of the file for me. I reinstalled Battlefiled 1 using normal settings and it worked perfectly.

Thank you again to @DarkAmaranth1966 for all of your help. It means a lot to me so thank you for your time and effort in helping me.
