@eadennis Surely there is something EA can do about this? You guys must have a relationship with them to be including them with BF games. This is a massive problem, you have to have some way of communicating with them in case of a problem.

Nice troll attempt. Wait until you have a punkbuster problem and then feel what it is like to have people say things like that to you.

I play on multiplayers for almost 10 years. I started out when he used warrock punkbuster (then switched to hackshield as anticheat system). I used different games with punkbuster, and in almost 10 years I have NEVER had any problems of this kind.
I have seen cases of false positives on warrock with punkbuster, but in 1000 banned players, only 20 were false positives, because it used a program that was in conflict with punkbuster. These players have produced evidence on their honesty and were unbanned
In this case we are talking about more than 140 players banned by GGC, more than 200 banned by PBBans, almost 60 from ACI and who knows how many directly from EB. Are 4 different anticheat systems that have banned players with the same code. Wrong all four? It 's almost impossible!
If there is someone trying to troll someone else, it's you and not me!P.s.:
Relax, bought another key, and try to get a skill legally

Aside from thid this time, the only other time I had a problem with punkbuster was years ago on Americas Army and it turned out to be one of my HIPS security programs that I was running at the time that protects the computer from intrusions. That lead me to believe it might be my firewall or antivirus but I have already tried that and it made no difference.

useless. I used this information to get access to the log for punkbuster on my system: http://www.pbbans.com/info-center-clientlog.html#tableofcontents
I had hoped it would contain the information about what exactly it detected. But it turns out it is completely useless. All it tells you is the name of the detection its self, not the file or files they are concerned with. The only thing I have left is to wipe my system partition out and reinstall windows and everything. If this isn't resolved within the next hour or two (unlikely) I am probably just going to format. I cannot sit here and do nothing. I have paid a lot of money for this game and I damn well want to play it.

You don't understand, then....
You are globally banned by EB, you can't play with that account. You need another key to play!
Check here: anticheatinc.netIf the code of your bann is the one given in the title of the topic, it is a site hack (I do not name them here because I can not do). If you do not have a specific code, then it might be a false positive.
All those banned with that code, are all users of a known cheat from this site.
That's all! - Anonymous12 years ago
Do you actually read? I get punkbuster kicks for 2 minutes. I have not been banned by punkbuster. I have never said I got banned from punkbuster. People joining servers that have PBBans system on it (a third party system based on punkbuster) are getting bans from servers running PBBans. I am getting 2 minute kicks only. So I keep connecting to the same server to test and try and fix this. So far nothing is resolving the problem.

And are you checked that link? That is your guid, and result globaly banned. This is why you are kicked everytime.
I checked your guid on ACI and PBBans, and the result is the same: Globally Banned by Even Balance
If you are a Streaming Admin registered on PBBans, you check this link: PBBans.com
Otherwise, go on their website, in the left menu select "Master player index", enter your guid, enter verification code (captcha) and check for yourself.

I did not know that was my GUID in the link, I thought that was a sample link or something. If I am globally banned, as it seems I may be, I need this resolved because I have done nothing wrong. Nobody has addressed my ticket with punkbuster or anything. I have even offered to do testing with them to find out what is causing this problem. Not a word yet.
I don't know of anyone that's heard back from them yet. Punkbuster is also one of those groups that goes with the security by obscurity method, wherein they refuse to publish any real information about how/why they ban for many offenses. People that know nothing about security tend to believe that this is an effective method, but fail to realize that transparency is required to have really effective security. Unfortunately, the result is that there's no good way to find out what may be causing false positives as a result of the fact that they won't release any information about how or what is being detected as a "hack".
Until someone has gotten a response from evenbalance we're all pretty screwed, and I'm not holding my breath on how they respond either.
Otherwise, I'd just continue to ignore the trolls that are infesting these threads acting as though they know everything, and maybe hope that they get hit with this same thing (or worse).

Nice post. False positive is so frustrating, you don't even know what are you banned for. Just like is it Visual Studio, VMware or mouse autoclicker (never used for BF).

I'm kind of glad this forum is more mature than that show that's going on over there on battlelog. i'm also having this issue, opened a ticket with evenbalance, but have not received any news of what's being done about it. i really hope there can be some sort of investigation started on either or both EA and Evenbalance's part...

There are instances of them admiting that non-cheat software have triggered detections on BF3: http://www.evenbalance.com/index.php?page=support-bf3.php

We have confirmed that a misconfiguration on our backend caused a few cases of Violation #132056 inadvertently. We encourage server admins to give the benefit of the doubt to players who raised this violation code today."

We have confirmed that Violation #89271 may be triggered by non-cheat software. This Violation code has been removed from our master servers and we encourage server admins to give the benefit of the doubt to players who raised this code over the past few days."

Looks like this is the first one for BF4. I hope they clear all this up very soon. This is really depressing.

It's even more depressing because they won't even open up to say what was causing the false positives in those instances. It's a shame, as I'd rather been enjoying BF4 so far (even with the instability issues).
It's also irritating because, while there are many people that claim otherwise, in the long time that I ran my old 2142 server some years ago, PB was never actually good for anything except kicking people with high ping. I'd actually rather that was it's purpose, as a few dedicated admins are worth more than any cheat detection system ever could be.

I know what you mean. I hope they can fix it else my recreation will go to almost nothing. I get on with friends and we game. It is what we do. If punkbuster does not fix this, the games we play will be unavailable to me. Makes me really angry to think that could happen if they don't figure this out.
Yeah, I'm in a very similar boat. I hope it doesn't come to that, but we'll just have to wait and see - especially since it sounds like not a single person that's been talking about this has had any response at all from EvenBalance yet.
