All my drivers have all been updated, I have tried the twinkle folder, moving my documents to the same drive, reinstalling. Im using EA Play which means I'm not on origin.
This happens after the UI update to first go into multiplayer...
I first downloaded the Battlefield 1 i layed the training everything is ok but than it said me to "you have to update your interface to play multiplayer" and i click to update button downloaded it, and all my homescreen went black all the images are gone including background only the texts are on the screen and all the buttons and images are black i tried every thing but i cant fix it. when i click the update it downloads a file in documents named "twinkle" i deleted it and tried again but nothing changed please help me.. (all my drivers updated and i tried clean boot.... doesn't work , i am using ea desktop not origin. )
I uninstall and reinstall the whole 70gb with my poor internet but nothing changed it took 20 hours but nothing fixed please @EA_Atic help us. I tried olmost everything i read all forum posts about this bug i try all the solutions but cant fixed maybe the problem is not about our pc the problem is about ea desktop app because whenever i delete ea desktopp and re install it the images and background in the menu, came back for once but than i restart the game they gone again.

Hello there, we are looking into the Battlefield 1 main menu shown as a blacks screen for EA Desktop players,
Workaround for the moment is to use Origin for players who own the game prior to having it on gamepass

okay, but when are fix this problem for others who don't have battlefield 1 on origin?
- @mrdarknouss You should always be able to play BF1 on origin, even if you buy it on Steam.
@JRMBelgiumTwitch the problem is that I play it from the Xbox game pass.
Same.. I tried to play whit origin but didn't work it told me to you have to purpurchase the game....
@EA_AticWhen I logged in today I realized I had some of my menu. I'm not sure if EA has tried to fixed the issue and did not finish, the menu looks good, (background) but the menu buttons are still blank.
However once you load into a game the blackscreen starts again... But when I relaunched the game menus were like before and messed up when I went into a game.
Sadly having the same problem. Are you having any issues with accepting invitations from your friends. This is the real headache for me i cant even see the invitations.
Invitations have been super buggy as well. Sometimes booting via Xbox works better but its very inconsistent and different friends of mine have different quirks. One never appears as online to us despite being visibly Online on his side (not Invisible) and he has to Join Squad rather than be invited as he can't see the invites. Others take the invites just fine. One often gets dropped from the squad as we enter a session and we have to leave/regroup/reattempt.
The only game that has been generally decent to work around is Star Wars Battlefront II.
I can't even get Hardline to boot anymore. Battlelog can't even launch anything. It just sits there *thinking* that it launched it. EDIT: Managed to fix Hardline. Definitely a different issue than BF1 or BFVI have been having this issue also since beginning to play bf1 since it released on gamepass, it's a real shame as I am really enjoying the game and would love if this black screen background for the main menu bug would be gone

Hello there, the team is still investigating the issue.
A quick question what version of the interface do you have. You can find the version number under MORE in the main menu and then in the lower right corner.
Example:

My Battlefield 1 version is v.26385. It never loads images. Black background.
My Battlefield 5 version is v.26502. It usually loads images on boot (except user avatars, they never load) but they disappear after a few minutes of menuing or playing. Background is fine.
V.26385 here as well,
Game crashed something along the lines of dx11, relaunching it gave colours to the game no longer 0 brightness but clicking anything made everything go black again
I reset my computer , setup a new clean windows 10 and tried to download the game again but nothing changed 🙂 still cannot see any images in the menu and everything is black. This issue killed my desire to this game.

I'm confirming the issue is caused by the EA Play subscription (or maybe the gamepass).
I have stopped my EA play sub a few months ago but i already OWNED the games i'm going to talk about.
BF1 couldn't or rarely launch on Origin (1 try outta 5 for exemple) and even Mass Effect Andromeda couldn't connect to online.
When i tryed via EA desktop BF1 is launching everytime but the blackscreen ALWAYS appears. (It changed nothing for ME Andromeda still offline)
I have contacted the support and the only way to fix the issue is to delete the game from our account and give it back. It worked for ME andromeda but i forgot to ask for BF1. 😞
I'm really sure it's caused by the subscription and it sucks to have to fix this by our own.

For a workaround that we are looking at can you try to download Origin and start up Battlefield 1 and see if you are still seeing black screens.

As an Xbox Game Pass player, my EA Play subscription has not carried over to Origin. I cannot generally play EA Play games on Origin so we're still toast if that is the workaround without a change to Game Pass, BUT --I loaded the BF1 "10 hour Trial" in Origin. After it automatically found the game files and performed a File Validation (repair) but did not find any issues or download anything, it then loaded successfully and all of the menu was working. I did not run any matches or anything, but the menu tiles and backgrounds were all working normally and looked good. It was still v.26385. Full color, icons on everything, avatars looked good.
I then closed Origin and went back to EA Desktop and the menu was broken again. This is explicitly an EA Desktop incompatibility. Currently, "EA Play via Xbox Game Pass" players do *not* have EA Play access on Origin. We absolutely must use EA Desktop, so unless granting us EA Play on Origin is the workaround, we will likely be unable to get past it.
Edit: BTW the weird lighting/coloration of the menu in Origin is due to HDR being enabled and not translating in the PNG file. The colors look perfectly good on my end.
