Re: [PC]No sound anywhere in the game

@Flautey Hi, if you check the volume mixer with the game running, does that shed any light?

Right-click the speaker icon in the bottom right of your desktop and choose to open volume mixer. Check if the game has a volume above zero, and see if it thinks it's outputting on the correct speaker.

Thanks.

Hello! I checked the volume mixer while running the game and the volume is above zero but it doesn't seem like any sound is outputting.

Also, if this helps with the investigation, I plugged my laptop into my TV with an HDMI cord and the sound came out of the TV. However, when I unplugged the HDMI cord, the sound still own't ccome out of my laptop.

Thanks for the extra details, if it's outputting on your tv at least there's not some horrible internal issue where no sound is being made.

Is there an arrow or drop down option within the Volume Mixer to choose a different device?

    Thanks.

Yes, there is an option for two other audio outputs when I click the drop down arrow. They're both labeled as "Speakers (High Definition Audio Device)". No programs are coming out of the second one.

I turned off all other  audio outputs besides the one that basically manages everything and nothing changed.

    I see, thanks again.

If you right-click your output device from the mixer and check Properties > Advanced, what default format is it set to? Does changing this have any effect?

Sorry for the late reply. The default is "2 channel,16 bit, 44100 Hz (CD Quality)" I tried changing it to everything, but none of them seem to work.

Flautey, I sorta had the same problem. I was having a sound driver creating a problem for me. The culprit had something to do with my monitor being hooked up by hdmi cable. For whatever reason Windows kept making the monitor the default play back device. To make sound come out of my speakers or headphones or speakers I would have to disable the High definition audio device. Go to your audio icon on the bottom right side of your screen, right click and  select your computers mobo sound device, right click on it and set as default. If you have a high definition speaker listed,  right click on it and disable. (unless you want to hook up to your TV, then you'll have to set it to default, prob the high definition choice.) Now go into device manager, click the arrow to expand the category Audio outputs and inputs, if you have a high definition device, right click it and select disable. You can re-enable later if need be. Go down to the  category,  soun video game controllers, click the arrow to expand, find the High definition audio device. Disable by right clicking on it. my prob is I had an AMD driver running the HDMI plug in trying to control my computer/world.... I had and AMD mobo in the past but now I have an Intel and for whatever reason it picked up the wrong driver .. Close out and reboot. I hope this works for you. If not make sure you upload the MSinfo file as you did for the DXDIAG file for EA support. They are great for help......

Thanks, at least that rules out sound quality. Can you try 1dogbreath's  steps to ensure the right output is used?
