Re: Sniper scope "zeroing"
Well, to be honest, there is not much we can do about it, as we're just a player-based support forum. However, let me give you an explanation regarding what really happened (as the 100m zeroing matter is somewhat misleading).
You see, in earlier days of BF4 the bullet was shot torso-high. It caused one world of trouble with people glitch-shooting through the structures while remaining almost impossible to hit, so shot place was moved to head area . However, that resulted in an issue - if the previous shooting arc was kept without any changes, more accuracy-demanding weapons would've been misaligned regardless of distance. For that reason, what previously was 0m zeroing became 100m zeroing after moving the shot point up - more arced trajectory of torso-high 100m-zeroed shot was replaced with flatter trajectory of a new, head-high shot. Without that, if you applied a 100m zeroing, in reality you would've zeroed in at about 200m.
For the same reason other weapons capable of being accurate on range were auto-zeroed - that includes DMR's and LMG's, although in their case the initial distances are 75 or 50m due to trajectory differences.
Now, about misaligned shots... the interesting thing is, after about 15-20m the difference between new arc and old arc never ends up being more than just 5cm over/under for a 100m shot - difference that is mostly negligible. Problem usually comes from some scopes becoming slightly misaligned after shooting point was moved to head area - ACOG is a prime example (and a reason why I go with JGM-4 as soon as I get it).
So in the end, current state is a byproduct of a fix for a pretty big issue... for that reason, I personally believe that, if zeroing appears in next Batlefield, it will be possible to start with 0m again.
