I'm looking for a new mouse, any recommendations?

    Hi @BlueCelticPagan ,

To me the choice of mouse is almost like religion and a very personal thing.  ;o)

But a few of the key aspects/parameters are definitely something we can help you with some advices on here, like:

    • The mouse DPI resolution, which is super important to have as high as possible for any FPS gaming, as it helps to reduce the latency in your controls in the gameplay for your soldier to react and be as precise as you intended it to be.  LevelCap has posted several good reviews on that subject, but key take away is clear:  Getting the highest DPI possble for your mouse for FPS gameplay!
    • Quite important for many is the price.  It is no secret that typically the quality of the mouse is often linear proportional to the quality of the mouse you buy.  So don't know what budget is reasonable for you here, so I will try and list high end as well as a cheaper alternative.
    • To almost as important as the above is the mouse size and shape how it fits or doesn't fit so well into my hand.  Personally I do not have very large hands, but I absolutely still detest using the smaller mice.  Again, personal preference, as see some players prefer the smaller ones. I just do not...
    • Last key aspect but still very very importnat to me I find is the mouse interface.  Aka a wired mouse, where you never need to bother about the batteries or charging it.  Or if you prefer the wireless, but then having to check the battery levels from time to time.  Some newer ones are actually very economic on their batteries, so surprising how long they run now.  I also have one of those clever ones from Razer, where I have the mouse mat wired, providing a permanent induction charge to my wireless Razer mouse on it.  That I find very cool and practical, as the mouse is then also quite lightweight, while also fully wireless and never need a stop to charge or battery change.

Here a few good choices for a mouse specific for gaming purpose and their key aspects:

    Razer DeathAdder V2:

    DPI 20,000

    Wired via USB interface.

Perfect ergo shape to most hands.

    $60.

    Razer Viper 8k:

    DPI 20,000

    Wired via USB interface

Main difference to the Razer model above is:

8,000Hz internal polling rate on all the buttons (best available) + Ambidextrous design, so works both for left- and right handed.

    $100

    DARK CORE RGB PRO SE:

    DPI 18,000

Wireless, but less than 1ms latency! (best in class of wireless)

2,000Hz internal polling, so really also made for the FPS gaming in mind.

Ergo grip, I love its textured rubber grip on the palm surface...

50 hours on a full battery charge

It also supports the Qi powered mousepads I mentioned above for my Razer mouse, so it stays charged all the time while used on such a mouse pad.

    $90

    Razer Viper Ultimate Wireless:

    DPI 20,000

    Wireless, <2ms latency

70 hours on a full battery charge

Ambidextrous grip. Very light at just 74g.

    $130

  • I'm using a $7 mouse from amazon and am finding it does the job just fine...

  • Hey @BlueCelticPagan, i have a big hand and need also something heavy so i decided to use a Verbatim Rapier V2 Laser Gaming Mouse. It fits perfect in my hand and the weights in there i can adjust.
