The quantum of damages are easy to assess, they should be required to refund the money paid until fixed OR in the alternative, fix the problem! I sincerely doubt this is a hard issue for them to acknowledge and fix.

There-in lies the problem though. This is EA we're dealing with here, and we all know how much they hate people coming between them and their money. Either option is an option we're not likely to see results from within our lifetimes. I'm certainly not holding my breath, and I'm certainly not renewing my servers  when they expire. That solves all the problems. I've already chalked the max-player issues up as a lost cause. As much as it pains me to say it, it's best to just suck it up and deal with it.

I wish that it was just resetting from 24 to 16 players but it seems like now it has become worse than b4! You can't even populate your empty rented server due to being kicked straight off after 15secs. No matter the settings that are changed or reset, you just can't get on for more than 15 seconds.

However, there are a FEW rented servers (not DICE officials) that are able to be populated and that do not kick players off. It leaves me thinking that perhaps it is a regional issue: by location that is...

This is a forum from 2012 and this issue still continues to 2013. This is unacceptable region based or simply apathy on the part of EA/Dice I don't care they need to be taught a lesson but frankly other than not buying BF4 as a pre-release I can't think of a good one and realistically I'll be the only one doing it. EA and Dice have basically made BF3  as a money making BETA for BF4. The differences don't seem that great given what we currently know about BF4. Dice/EA you need to refund the money for my server because this player count drop happens EVERY DAY. Get some customer service EA.

My guesse is the glitch is a mathematical one.  for example:   I use two maps (Operation Firestorm and Karg Island) as my only maps in my preset.  When the two maps are combined in my preset the glitch takes only the lowest 'default' max players setting between the two maps (in this case) and compares it to the maximum allowable max players setting for these maps which is 24.  since the lowest 'default' max player setting between these two is 16, Operation Firestorm default is 24, Karg Island default is 16.  It keeps 16 and since 16 is not 75% or higher (18 or higher) of the maximum setting you can set for these maps (which is 24 in this case) it sends noone to your server.  This is just a guesse of course.
