@UP_HawxxeyeI wasn't a fan of the buddy revive for one main reason it lessens the impact of the medic class. And remembering all of the threads on Battlelog about "Medic Trains" I doubt it provided more revives than ever before.
If we want medics to revive again we should go back to the BF3\4 class system as we always had a lot of medics on the battlefield. In BF1\5 they made the medic class the least desirable so people in BF1 complained about there being no medics. So in response DICE kept the class structure as it was and made it even harder to revive via the forced animation compounding the issue resulting in even fewer medics on the Battlefield than in BF1.
Regarding taking ammo, I'd personally rather make support do their job and throw ammo via incentivizing them with more XP instead of using the hardline system. That being said it's not a hill that I'd die on as it's not a huge issue for me like the buddy revive.
I remember a common complaint between players of BF1 being too many medics because they had the best guns and could heal themselves.
I don't think more XP would help. I find most players simply aren't aware when people are asking for ammo and health because players generally throw you supplies when they do finally notice you. The game since Battlefield 3 has done a really poor job at alerting supports and medics that people are trying to get their attention and it's an issue I've been bringing up with each game over the past decade. I feel it would be better if supports and medics got very clear, unmistakable HUD indications when people use the comm rose to call out to them similar to how icons appear on the HUD when a player is downed and requiring a revive.
It is also because many players are not even aware of the massive XP that can be made by simply being a great team mate!
I would still be all for even more XP to stimulate incentive for better team/squad behavior.
So more points to those who actively support their team (and even a multiplier on top, if for squad members) with supplies, reviving, repairing, spotting, spawn beacons, following squad orders, sticking together with your squad lead, etc. Its when you are on a team and with a squad that works seamlessly together where the great games and epic events are happing!
As @UP_Hawxxeye mentioned in his intro: The players who make sure the better killers in the team are well supported should get more recognition!
Those heroes would not be as great without their sidekicks, is exactly right!
Just for the fun of it and to show how important squad play is (in BF4), we at times agree to get our chosen aggressive squad lead pampered with two supporting Assault Medics with medic bags and defibs to keep him alive no matter what, one Support with double ammo bags to keep those guns loaded and one Recon with spawn beacon and TUG for quick redeploy at the front where the action is. And even a mediocre player we can get typically get through to a 100+ kills/5 deaths score or so in a 3200 ticket match. We have at times gotten the hero over 300+ and still below 10 deaths if we set our 'chosen hero' up for the full VIP Platinum service. Its all about the team and teamwork! And its great fun at the same time. ;o)
