Yes, but it would be easier if it's automatic setting and I am not 100% sure is it two way mute already in Battlefield. In some games muted players can hear you but you can't hear them. Apex Legends is example of one way mute.

@Teal_Pipo_Fredo I would only wany to mute annoyances on a case by case basis so current system works for me.
Bare in mind, a lot of my friends where once 'randoms' that happened to be in the same squad for a game or 2. Friend requests are exchanged and the rest is history.
I wouldn't want any of these 'chance meetings' prevented by default.
As to others hearing when muted, who cares, they can mute too.

I understand Battlefield is social experience and you can make friendships there if you have skills and desire. Personally I have lacked those and would play with those who I am familiar with from real life. Thus wanting to keep things private between us. Not having our "phone calls" spread out to whole squad. Waiting for Discord becoming available on console would be only known way then if these aren't things 😳
