To many memes
I do love the BF community but some of you are just whacked. Some demand that players learn to adapted, face challenges and think more tactical while demanding - we all wear the same uniforms. -...
Hello @DingoKillr , I would like to share something about Battlefield I think most don't even realize. In my opinion Battlefield as a series is not played entirely the same between platforms. I've always noticed two very distinguished types of playstyles for Battlefield.
On consoles I see a more run & gun, over the top experienced player. Like stuff always happening, complete havoc around them.
On PC's I see a more tactical style of gameplay. Squad tactics, play your role, do stuff for the team kind of play.
I'm not at all saying each person follows this above opinion, just saying what I observed over the years on both platforms. So with that in mind, that's where my opinions come when I myself make a discussion about Battlefield. For example I like the run & gun more so I make more discussions about wanting more of this type of play style. Less animations, less stuff I myself find boring, like squads, tactics. I don't play Battlefield as a military shooter.
With the forums now incorporating the old Battlefield forums, I think that's where all these conflicting views are coming from. It's like the ideas of consoles and PCs are finally meeting each other for the first time.
Also I don't look at Battlefield as a set in stone experience, Like each title in my eyes could be very different from the next. Bad Company 1, 2, Battlefield 1943, 3, 4, Hardline in my eyes are run & gun games.
Battlefield 1942, 2, 1, 5 are more squad games in my mind.
I think Battlefield should have had a spin-off series back in BF4 days, that way each person would get the game they would enjoy.
Sorry about the wall of text.
@Popa2caps Agree, I know different platforms generally have different play style. I do know of some gun-ho Infantry only PC players.
It not just this forum when the same people insist that BF4 is great and all DICE needs to do is add new maps and a few new vehicles/weapons.
That does not matter the play style.
I remember the dev talk back around the end of BF4 that BF needed to have anti-zerg vehicle(bombers), more focus on Infantry play, weapons should be controller(random recoil) by the player as it is skillful, focus on being in action as much as possible and fast TTK. So it could be used in competition.
Does that sound like BFV? Those where the ideas from a PC youtuber streamer all because BF4 was to causal for hardcore competitive players.
We have BF players that insist that no spotting like back in older games because having is too causal, yet they are on comms with friends and they want it to flank like the did back in BF2. However spotting in BF2 had the commander with quick scan satellite, UAV and still spot from above on top of the spotting by infantry. I also note the huge lack of graphic details too. BFV had the lest amount of spotting and many seem to not like that.
That is what I am trying to get across some are using memes rather then thinking about what they are asking for.
Each individual is different and not everyone follows the playstyle I layed out in my previous description. I stated that with my text, but it kind of got buried.
I like Battlefield 4 (console) because of the style, lack of aim assist while in vehicles, maps (are so huge I don't feel confided to lanes), weapon attachments, vehicle unlocks (dislike aim assist, suppression, weapon pickups).
I dislike Battlefield 1 because of Elite classes, Aim assist is too strong plus added to vehicle aiming, Style, Vehicle classes, Weapons, Limited weapon attachments, Gadgets, Maps felt linear (Liked graphical settings on console).
I disliked Battlefield 5 because of Weapon pickups, Weapon attachments made into paths, Vehicles, Scopes were all dirty along the edges, Texture pop-in, Maps felt linear, Too much background FX (like fake soldiers running around on loops).
I'm also in the creative business, everyone has ideas that don't get implemented, but I don't think those ideas have anything to do with Battlefield 5.
People in a business come and go, DICE is no different. I don't think the people who created Battlefield 4 are the same people who created Battlefield 5. Sure, some of the same employees could be working at the studio, but I doubt they think the same as they did 7 - 9 years ago.
I can't give my judgments about BF2 as I started with BF2 Modern Combat for the original Xbox. Very different title than BF2 for PC.
I don't understand the meme part you're talking about.
When I got originally interested into Battlefield franchise back in Bad Company 2 days, I got recommended to try to play it because of
That's the formula I bought. Or thought so. Then I learned history lessons from the sensei and started to think I haven't experienced the true Battlefield™.
@Teal_Pipo_Fredo at times I see what people ask for it is to move BF to become COD, Fortnite or ARMA away from those 3 things you talked of.
Vehicles are a good example where team can work we have people calling for inside manual repair being removed for outside repair (fair enough), but saying inside auto repair encouraged team work back in BF4 and will do so again, their just dreaming.
There is lots of these focus on things that are individualistic focus rather then team work. Look at health and ammo BFV became anti-attrition because so many ran action man, wanting a fast pace game and a refusal to rely on other players.
These players only challenge becomes killing for their stats.
I can't see how going back to a remastered BF4 restores those 3 focus points of BF.
