Trouble Connecting to BF4 Servers While on the Same Network

Hi folks,

Apologies for bringing this up again, but it looks like there hasn't been a concrete, successful way to solve this issue.

The last few days I've been going back and forth with EA Support in trying to figure out how my wife and I can play Battlefield 4 on the same network together. From the research I've done in other forum posts, it looks like it's an issue with BF4 not allowing players who are on the same IP to connect to the same session. Seeing as we're on the same network, it's the crux of the issue that I'm having.

I've forwarded every port that EA's troubleshooting documentation has recommended, and I've been told that the game isn't platform cross-compatible (I play on the PS5, my wife plays on the PS4), but we've had success playing together in the past, and she's currently in a game with a mutual friend of ours who owns a PS5 as well. The ultimate frustration is that sometimes we can connect and play together, and sometimes we can't connect and play together. There's no consistency with whether we can play together or not, besides the "cannot connect to server" error message that pops up when we try to join on the same server together.

I feel like I've tried every workaround and every possible way to get us to play together (short of getting a static IP), and I feel like I'm at the end of my rope. We even tried connecting a separate, second router to get a different enough IP address to work, and it worked twice, and now that we're connecting to more populated servers, it's once again not allowing us to play.

ISP: Centurylink with Centurylink modem and router
Both have wired LAN connections to the router
Consoles: PS5 and PS4
We usually play in the evenings together, and we play on the same network.
We have 30 up and 5 down internet speeds
My IP address 192.168.0.7
Wife's IP address 192.168.0.20

One support person has told me that it's a networking glitch that EA is working on, but with 2042 so close to release, I doubt that a fix will actually be put out in time for players on the same networks to play together.

Anyone have any solutions or recommendations? I'm sure I missed some points here that can help with some fixes.

Thanks in advance for your help.
