Two annoying issues with BF1

http://sendvid.com/coez897d

1. As you can see in the video, things on the battlefield aren't fully loading/rendering until I get up close (I use ultra settings). How do I fix this?

2. I also have a performance problem, the game basically can't reach over 85 fps since my CPU has 99% usage. I have an i5 6600k, GTX 1070 and 16GB DDR4 RAM. I remember in the beta I had about 120 fps.

I have tried configuring the user.cfg file like many "fixes" say, I've tried limiting the FPS to 120 in-game, I've also tried changing maximum pre rendered frames in nvidia 3D settings.

I reset the 3D settings to default since it didn't work at all, so this isn't the reason for problem number 1.

I very much want to enjoy this beautiful game but these problems are really ruining the experience for me, please help...

(Problem 1 is a priority)

  • 1. Engine limitation in that given area

    2. Quite a normal FPS for that combo when not in planes on busy maps.

Your CPU is the weak link in your setup as it's the absolute minimum intel processor that will run BF1 so cranking everything up to ultra may be part of the problem. Try lowering your graphics settings and see if the issues persist.

For reference here are the minimum and recommended specs for BF1:

    MINIMUM SPECS
    • OS: 64-bit Windows 7, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10
    • Processor (AMD): AMD FX-6350
    • Processor (Intel): Core i5 6600K
    • Memory: 8GB RAM
    • Graphics card (AMD): AMD Radeon™ HD 7850 2GB
    • Graphics card (NVIDIA): nVidia GeForce® GTX 660 2GB
    • DirectX: 11.0 Compatible video card or equivalent
    • Online Connection Requirements: 512 KBPS or faster Internet connection
    • Hard-drive space: 50GB
    RECOMMENDED SPECS
    • OS: 64-bit Windows 10 or later
    • Processor (AMD): AMD FX 8350 Wraith
    • Processor (Intel): Intel Core i7 4790 or equivalent
    • Memory: 16GB RAM
    • Graphics card (AMD): AMD Radeon™ RX 480 4GB
    • Graphics card (NVIDIA): NVIDIA GeForce® GTX 1060 3GB
    • DirectX: 11.1 Compatible video card or equivalent
    • Online Connection Requirements: 512 KBPS or faster Internet connection
    • Available Disk Space: 50GB

Engine limitation in that given area? But it's everywhere in BF1, every map

Engine limitation in the way that I guess it could show you ultra ground textures everywhere and you just have 30FPS instead of 85FPS.

If you are going to convince me you actually have a bug/issue causing unnatural texture popping in BF1 you'll have to show me some normal gameplay, preferably in a bit higher quality.

PS. I guess you could try the newest hotfix drivers - there's a link stickied in the top of this section of the forum.

You can clearly see in the link that the dirt is popping up and down when moving back and forth, I simply wanted to show what it looked like.... you might just have to take my word for that there are indeed abnormal poppings. But sure if it is needed I could record my game and post it on youtube at highest quality and explain exactly where and when you can see weird poppings.

Another thing I forgot to mention is that my CPU is overclocked to 4.4GHz.

Tomorrow I will try the hotfix and change the graphics quality etc,

I tried the hotfix and lowered graphics quality, none helped. Lowering graphics only made it worse further away.

Honestly I'm quite satisfied with knowing I'm not alone in this problem, I'm probably just more bothered by it than most :P

I'll try a clean install, do it has never fixed anything in the past

Unless of course there is a fix...
