Two people same IP cannot join same server in BF4

There are two of us that both have battlefield 4 accounts and are on the same local network and same IP address behind a NAT. Naturally we bought the game to play together but when one of us is on a particular server, the other person cannot join that server. The game appears as if its trying to load up but eventually the BF4 exe closes and we get this error in red at the bottom of Battlelog:

"ERROR

Game disconnected: client closed down connection."

Note, the person who was on the server first can keep playing there just fine, but the second person trying to join them can not connect and get the above error.

We can also individually connect to the various servers no problem, and we can both play at the same time, as long as its not on the same server.

How can this be troubleshooted. I've already been pooring through these forums and also looking up info from BF3, and have not yet been able to solve this problem.

Thanks,

-Nick

Maybe new measure against Multiboxing boosting.

(1 Physical user with 2 Pc or 2 battlefield started on the same pc, used to boost till the rank wanted)

So yeah nothing to do except to tell you friend/brother to use a vpn.

****** SOLUCION ******* SOLUCION ******* SOLUCION ******** INCLUYE NITRADO SERVERS

Sorry my english, iam from uruguay
hi, i have two PC in the same network, with one external ip, one router and two pc and two BF4 account .
now when one is connected, the other computer say error UDP Port 3659.

This is the fix to play with two computer in the same local area network..

    1. Open Port in Router, on Port Triggering (not Port Forwarding, this is for one ip, and i have two one per computer), port

    TCP: 3659, maybe 80

    UDP: 3659, maybe 80

    2. Donload and intall Smart Port Forwarding de http://cqt.com.uy/spf.zip [cqt.com.uy]

    3. Configure in ear computer the program Smart Port Forwarding,  http://cqt.com.uy/ss.jpg [cqt.com.uy]
and change IP 192.168.0.2, with local computer ip.

    5. In router UPNP.. is disabled

READY ...PLAY WITH MANYS PC IN SAME LAN !!!!!!!

I found this thread because I was having the same issue with Battlefield 1. We had two people behind the same router / on the same LAN, and each could individually connect to servers, but if both tried to connect to the same one, it would fail, saying that the we were disconnected from the server.

I contacted EA, and here's what fixed it for me:

Go to your router settings or contact your ISP. Open these ports / set up port forwarding rules.

    TCP: 80, 443, 5222, 9988, 17502, 20000-20100, 22990, 42127

I forwarded the ports to just one of the PCs trying to connect, it seems UPnP handles the connection for the second PC (see below).

For more information on port forwarding, see this How to Geek article: http://www.howtogeek.com/66214/how-to-forward-ports-on-your-router/

I haven't done full testing, but for what it's worth, both of my PC's have static IPs assigned by my router, and UPnP is enabled. Netgear specifically says UPnP must be enabled for two players to access the same online application.

    Hope this helps someone.

I'm closing this thread to stop it being necroed.

If you have any issues with Battlefield 4 please make a new topic about the issues you are having and what kind of steps you have tried to solve it.
