VGA Fan Speed Problem?!

Hey!

I've got a strange problem (bug): When the game starts the VGA fans speeding up to 100% since the end of the intro (ASUS 7950 DCII, 13.11 catalyst) and keep running @ maximum. When I'm trying to slow down manually the rpm (by the AMD overdrive or MSI afterburner) it's fluctuating (in 2 sec from e.g.30% to 100% than again).

Do you know a solutions to my problem? Actually I can play with headphones, but I don't like the smell of the cooler after 2-3 hours of 100% hard-work 🙂

Ahh and don't tell me that's normal...  Thx for your help

  • The game does not directly control anything that would control your fan speed, per se.  It simply provides a load and your video card software (e.g. drivers, Catalyst, Afterburner, etc.) determine what speed to run the fans at relative to both settings and GPU temperature.

What sort of temperatures are you seeing with your card?  Also, are they possibly obstructed by an accumulation of dust?

thx for the fast reply, but all what you said is clear.

The GPU under load is (during bf4) 40 celsius - 100% fanspeed, normally 55celsius and 40% fanspeed.

I've double checked everything (catalyst, afterburner) , game starts -> intro over -> immediately 100% and cant slow down including alt+tab.
