I am tired of seeing the same PTFO requests from the community game after game. It is time for DICE to make a ranked mixed platoons area in Battlefield where winning matches and completing objective goals with platoon members actually earns rewards and rank for the platoons.
I understand that some people enjoy the multiplayer in this series being a sandbox experience where they can jump on the server and do whatever they want. Cool. If that is what is fun for you. Then do that. There however needs to be a place where the people that actually care about team play, executing orders, and helping their team win can go to be around others that want to play this way because this is what is fun for them.
Currently the Battlefield experience where the player jumps in random servers is terrible. People don't give squad orders. They don't follow the orders when they are given, and most people in squads don't even play the game like they have a squad with them as they are in different places on the map doing their own thing. Seeing this game after game on servers is annoying and makes me unfortunately realize how few times we get to experience the full potential of the large scale game modes.
I often get the urge to play Battlefield and then after a few matches of experiencing this find myself with no motivation to keep playing. This has to change.

Do guys see what is the issue with zerg or following orders are the same problem.
BF needs to carter more towards causalization to jump in and play. This should require no 3rd party apps/hardware. BF2 was on the right path but it was dropped.
Communication between players.
- Commander in game, It allows a player to fill when needed and resign and go back to play on the same server. Not having to leave the server you are on is huge.
This gives squad support while sending different squad to different locations(break zerg). A bunch of squad leaders with no guidance will start grouping together because they think others are not taking the right action.
- Expand Comm rose, this not just about giving different orders, request for something or thank you for squad only. We need close by comms and spot. Even turning direct to someone and chat(type).
Voice(mic) comms can exist but it shouldn't be the main method. No communication between squad this is because we are relying on voice comms which squad will be on 3rd party on different servers.
Following orders is simply two issues.
- Communication as above
- Points I can cap 1 flag and have squad leader order on another being defend I get points for both. Why? If I am not near defending why should I get points for following orders. Following orders/ team request should give big points.
Example A) Request Ammo close by - get 50 points. B) Drop ammo - 25 points.
Having Zerg buster vehicles(bombers) is BS as it just creates a big hammer for squashing ants, it just leads ants quitting.

From this thread, I've had the revelation that a big reason for the Zerg rush is the current points scoring system.
You should not make more points by taking and losing objectives over and over again. That scoring system leads to the Zerg as you are incentivized to lose an objective so you can take it again.
You should be awarded more points for defending objectives and keeping them under your teams control..

If you really truly want a team based game EA, take a look at the steam game squad.

I completely agree with this. If I’m playing solo then I always create my own squad and run the orders because I know joining a random squad will help nothing.
The same with vehicles, you try to support them or get support and the driver just sits there firing into nothing from range.
Chasing people down to get heals or ammo from them is also a nightmare.
Teamwork makes the dream work and it’s one thing that needs improvement, but that’s down to the players not the game.
The game would certainly benefit from better comms etc but ultimately it’s the players that need to play their roles properly.
