WHAT ON EARTH WAS DICE/EA THINKING?

BF4 SNIPING IS STUCK ON 100m ZEROING DISTANCE?? WHAT THE ACTUAL ****. WHO'S IDEA WAS THIS? DOES NO ONE UNDERSTAND HOW STUPID THIS IS. IT MAKES NO SENSE

  • First of all, this is a wrong place. AHQ can't answer this kind of question, because we aren't game developers.

Secondly, now zeroing is set at 100m because of headglitch fix. Previously bullet was fired from a point which was head-high. After the Spring Patch it's fired torso-high. With 0m zeroing the bullet would go quite a bit below the line of aim regardless of distance. That's why the lower point from where the shot is fired is compensated by zeroing the rifle on 100m. According to calculations made by people from CTE the bullet won't go more than 4cm over the target you fire at when it is less than 100m away from you (and, from my experience, they're correct).

Long story short: 100m zeroing barely changes anything when it comes to aiming within 0-100m range as long as you don't aim at the very top part of the head.

  • Yep, sorry! After playing the game, I see no difference what so ever. What I don't really like though is how some of the snipers only have 5 rounds in mag, but other then that, I am happy that the game is messed up. Thanks for the help guys.

and no, I did not find you're advice helpful, you really accomplished nothing posting here. The guy above you at least had the decency to prove a point and help me out.

Glad I could help... to be honest, initially I was a bit confused about it too, but luckily I know some CTE people who were kind enough to explain it (as patch notes didn't describe it with enough detail). Took me a short while to get used to it, but now I kind of enjoy it, as it also made mid-range combat a bit more comfortable (although I think that it was just a side effect).
