Why does Battlefield 4 costs 3x as much on console ? :(

The state of multiplayer FPS console games is a little stale at the moment. My friends and I are wearing out Rainbow Six Siege (amazing game) so I thought it would be a great option to pick up Battlefield 4 for some variety. I looked up the price and I was kind of shocked that a 2 1/2 year old game is $10 on PC, but $30 on console. I don't want to buy it used and screw over the developers, but at the same time $30 is ridiculous for the base game.

  • Console games are in general more expensive as Sony/Microsoft need a cut as well. That being said, sales differ all the time, the console versions might be cheap in the future or in a different store.

I've herd that console games cost more because Sony and Microsoft need their cut of the sale, but I don't think that is reason to charge $20 more than PC.

I checked slickdeals and on 3-22-2016  Premium Edition (includes 5 xpacs and a shortcut kit) was on sale for $19.80 at the Xbox store.  (expired now)

Just saying deals do come around but I feel you on console digital store prices for older titles...

That was a good deal. It is unfortunate I missed it, but at the same time I feel like the game shouldn't even need a sale. I read Battlefield 5 is suppose to release late this year so you would think the retail price of the game would be low without the need of a sale price. :/
