Battlefield 1/V PC restarts after quitting the game

Hi everyone,

I've been getting back on Battlefield 1 and V over the last few weeks and have been having a blast! However, these last few weeks I encountered a weird bug where my entire PC reboots when I quit the game. This happens for both titles. So far I have tried reinstalling the game, repairing the game, launching EA anti-cheat as administrator and changing around some of the settings. Nothing has worked so far and this keeps on happening. I see many others have also reported this in the forums, so I am not the only one. I believe this has something to do with a recent update to EA anti-cheat as the problem started happening since what seems to be an update to the anti-cheat software.

My PC specs are as follows:

GPU: Nvidia 4070 TI Super
CPU: Ryzen 7 7800x3D

@EA Please look into this, it is very frustrating to have to restart my PC with every game exit. This could potentially lead to a hardware damage if it continues, who knows.

  • we have the same cpu, did you try to clear cmos (to remove all kind of overclock etc) and remove the XMP in the bios ?

you can try that, after, i don't really know. it's not the same for everyone

  • I have exact problem and almost identical PC spec as yours, mine also freeze and restart when quitting game.

It seems EAC wants to verify and write something on kernel level,  while Windows also reading driver file, causing system to halt.

So far I've tried excluding the EAC and EA folders from Windows Defender, rather than disabling it completely, that seems to be a good band aid, I've only had several error when exiting.

After fiddling with Core Isolation options, I can confirm that's now crash free 👌

I've disable any of Core Isolation option :

    1. Memory integrity off.
    2. Kernel Mode Hardware Enforce Stack Protection off.
    3. Local Security Authority protection off.
    4. Microsoft Vulnerable Driver block list off.

If you have the Razer cortex or any game booster program uninstalled it. I had to change the pc power setting to normal & change the Nvidia setting to power setting to Normal & uninstall Razer Cortex and now the pc doesn’t crash anymore. Hope that works for you

Hey, I also read somewhere that switching the power mode of your PC to normal fixes this. I just tried this and the game didn't crash anymore, so that was what fixed it for me. Hope people see this

I'm still on Ultimate Performance power profile but everything fine.

Apparently, EAC conflicting with chipset driver from AMD, I'm using AMD Chipset Software 7.02.13.148 btw, and when switched to Balance Profile which is Windows Default / without driver, fixed the problem.
