Battlefield V closes after EA AntiCheat screen (worked yesterday, no changes)

I’m a long-time Battlefield V player (1,300+ hours) and until yesterday everything worked perfectly. Today, however, the game fails to launch— it always closes right after the EA AntiCheat screen, without any in-game error message. I did not install any new software or change any settings since the last successful launch.

Steps I’ve tried so far:

  • Repair/Verify game files in EA App (Library → … → Repair)
  • Clear EA App cache (≡ menu → Help → App Recovery)
  • Reinstalled EA App and Battlefield V completely
  • Repaired EAAntiCheat via EAAntiCheat.Installer.Tool.exe
  • Deleted the Battlefield V folder in Documents and the registry key HKLM\SOFTWARE\EA Games\Battlefield V
  • Disabled DirectX 12 (set Dx12Enabled=0 in PROSAVE_profile)
  • Updated GPU drivers and set high-performance GPU
  • Ran System File Checker (sfc /scannow) and applied Windows updates
  • Clean-booted Windows and closed all non-essential apps
  • Checked for interfering applications (antivirus, VPN—currently off)

Despite all of the above, the game still shuts down immediately after the AntiCheat splash.

Event Viewer errors (Windows Logs → Application, Level 2): attached

My system specs:

  • OS: Windows 11 Pro 23H2
  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5500G
  • GPU: AMD Radeon 6600 XT (driver 25.3.1)
  • RAM: 32 GB DDR4
  • Storage: BF V on NVMe SSD (50 GB free)
  • EA App version: 13.453.0.5966

I really love this game and would appreciate any help or diagnostics tips. Please let me know if you need additional logs or anything else.

Thank you in advance! 🙏

  • I have no idea what happened, but today I tried again and loaded the game and it works! I don't think it was me that fixed it. When I launched the EA app it asked me to install the update, I did. I then selected English when installing the game and moved the game app while it was on the Javelin splash screen to a different monitor (from an ultra-wide monitor to a normal monitor) using the Win+Shift+Arrow combination, and while it seemed stuck as it was, right before it crashed, I tried pressing Alt+Enter.
Again I don't think I'm the one who fixed the problem, I hope it helps

  • It is happenning the same with a lot of games, like BF1, BFV or EAFC25; it is because of the new Javelin Anti Cheat :(

  • Yes, I contacted support, they basically only advised me to repeat all the steps

That is concerning HiFriend, the issue always gets fixed after the mentioned steps. Have you tried your luck with EA support?

  • Hello danisoff,
I just uninstalled EA anticheat with EAAntiCheat.Installer.exe at C:\Program Files\EA\AC. After I reinstalled BF V, nothing has changed 😢

I haven't found a solution yet. I think the only thing left is to tear everything down and reinstall Windows. Have you tried that?

  • Did you find the solution? I cant play bfv over 8 months cuz of this issue
