Battlefield V fails to launch on EA Desktop

https://twitter.com/messages/media/1398133278847033351

Was told by EA Help on Twitter to post my issue here in hopes of it being fixed. I'm subscribed to EA Play through Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. When playing EA games on my PC, I'm forced to go through EA Desktop. Ever since I installed Battlefield V, I receive the same error when attempting to launch: "Your game failed to launch. An error on our end caused your launch to fail. Try again a little later."

I've tried several times over several weeks. Same error. Other games such as Apex and Mass Effect: Andromeda launch without issue. I was an Origin Access member prior to EA Play being on Gamepass, BF V was able to launch through Origin without issue.

Have tried several troubleshooting methods with the EA Help team. Still no fix.

@JLax916  can you try to do a clean boot to see if there any programs messing with Battlefield V and turn off any overlay programs for example Discord or Nvidia experience.

Can you add a Dxdiag so we can see what hardware and drivers you have?

Let me know if this works or not for you. 🙂

I did find a way to make the game run. I created another user account on my PC. After logging into this other account, I signed in to Origin with my username/password, launched BF V and it worked. Was able to play single and multiplayer with no issues. I have no clue why the game will launch on this user account and will not launch on my main account on my PC. I would like to fix those errors, switching profiles to play one game is kind of annoying.

  • I had the same issue, I had to uninstall Origin. After the uninstall games would launch on EA Desktop. I hope this helps.
