Solved

connection issues. DICE, please help.

UPDATE: after four days it has been fixed!! HUGE thank you to @EA_Aljo for the help.

posting on here in hopes DICE and the other Battlefield V developers see my post and can help me. i'm attempting to play Battlefield V, however for the past 3 days now it's been telling me it cannot connect to the EA Online servers. i have reset my xbox a number of times, and have also reset my wifi router a number of times, and still nothing. i even uninstalled and reinstalled the game and it didn't fix my issue. everything else is working on my xbox and it seems to be a Battlefield V issue. i spent 3+ hours yesterday doing everything the help websites told me to do, and spent nearly 2 hours speaking to someone from EA help and doing everything they told me got me nowhere. please, help me out here! it is NOT my wifi or my xbox because i have perfect connection and all other games on my xbox are working, except for Battlefield V. the representative from EA Help told me it was a bug, and to get it fixed i'd have to post here to get in touch with DICE. i've also made a post on X and sent a DM to the official EA and Battlefield X accounts. DICE, please help me. i can't view my company, armory, not even my profile. i just want to be able to play online games again. i've had the game for nearly 2 years and this issue just began 3 days ago.

  • @EA_Aljo i just tried that and it worked! i connected the hotspot on my phone and it installed an update and worked. thank you SO SO much!!

    Hi there, @jmsluvr

    Thanks for reaching out about this. It looks like you're using a wireless connection. As a test, can you try using a wire to see if that lets you connect? Make sure you power cycle your console and modem/router with these steps after switching to a wire: unplug your modem/router and console. After 2 minutes plug in the modem/router. Let them come back online completely. Let me know what happens.

    hi @EA_Aljo , i did consider this option however my wifi router doesn't have an option to use a wire, and i would have to call my wifi company to get a router with a wire. everything else on my xbox has a perfect connection. i even had my boyfriend open Battlefield V on his xbox, which is an older console than mine (he has an Xbox One, i have a Series S), and he said his is working just fine.

    @jmsluvr

    Is his console closer to the router? Is your boyfriend possibly using a 5g connection and yours is 2.4g?

    Unfortunately, what you're describing is very possible with a wireless connection so most likely, that's the case here.

    @EA_Aljo his console his actually further from his router, lol. my wifi is 5g, and when i go to my xbox settings it says i have full 5g connection and that all services are available. i have my console as close to my router as i possibly can, and as i said in my original post i have never had this problem up until now 4 days ago

    Thanks for the details. As a test, try switching your connection to use a mobile hotspot. Let me know if that will connect.

    Great! Just to be sure, are you able to now connect on your normal connection after that update downloaded?

    @jmsluvr

    That means the issue is either with your home network or your ISP. Are you sure there's no port for a wire? It would be pretty odd not to have one. If that is the case, I recommend contacting your ISP to let them know what's happening. It's possible there's a setting on your modem that is causing this. If you have access to it, make sure UPnP is enabled. Also, your NAT needs to be either moderate or open.
