High Latency

Hello guys.

In the BF6 Beta that launched months ago, I had my problems with the game because I got rubberbanding problems in all matches. I asked in several streams if someone has the same issue like me but I got no response.

Today I wanted to play BF V after a long time, I got even there rubberbanding. I tried so much to find a fix.
PC is connected via Lan to the router

On my router I set my PC to exposed Host, I tried to use the lowest settings ingame, even on 1080p. (I usually play in 2K resolution and 240 Hz on Ultra)

Nvidia control panel: low latency mode is on Ultra.
Gsync is on
ingame vsync is off
tried with dx12 and dx11 (with future frame on and off)
Onedrive is deinstalled
tried with windows game mode on and off
gave the game admin rights

The game itself runs perfectly. But if I join the battlefield, and start running, I got a rubberbanding. Its on every server (playing on german servers because I'm living there)

everything on my pc is on latest update (GPU, BIOS, Chipset driver)
I dont know what to do now. Please help me

specs:

Win 11 64bit
B650 Gaming X AX V2
AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D
Nvidia Geforce RTX 4070 Ti Super
32 GB Ram

  • I found a solution to my problem: running the game on another SSD with higher speed, called a PCIe Gen3 M.2. It’s better in terms of frequency and data transfer.

    - you need SSD PCIe Gen3 M.2
    -or PCIe Gen4 M.2

Soo I tried today to test it on my PS5. I only can tell that I got there high latency aswell. Then I reset the router to factory settings and even that didn't fix the problem. Hard to tell what causing it

    -edit-
Ping test is showing that my network is always spiking. I send a ticket to my ISP to fix that.

Honestly hard to tell, the ping spiking could be anything. Try looking into your console, the issue can't be with the game that I'm sure.

of course. They have a ping about 12ms-20ms. When I'm joining them, my latency is going up as hell. I already did port forwarding but even that didn't work. My ISP has no problems on their site (atleast is nothing is known in their website). My last bet would be to check it on a console if the problem is on my rig. But I'm wondering why 2042 works flawless.

Are you joining servers near you on Battlefield 1 and Battlefield V?

  • I tried today BFV and BF1 and I got there always high latency. Even in the BO7 Beta I got package burst. But in BF 2042 everything is perfect. Low latency (20ms-27ms)

  • Hello xKarma94,

You should check with your ISP and also check your internet equipment, as the issue appears to be related to those rather than the game itself.

    It would seem that when you first try to stress the game (moving, running, shooting etc) you have a problem. some simple things to consider;

What is running in the background, (A program/windows update will also do this). Is anyone else on the same connection as you. Are you running a VPN. Is your LAN connection ethernet or wifi.

You should not have to mess with the router as windows will do all that for you. Your pc sounds like it should have no trouble handling the game, it seems to be an issue between your PC and the internet. Could be as simple as a conflict between settings and program permissions.

You can do all this by using a google search with your symptoms and see how you go there as well.

How it sounds to me, the issue isn't your rig per se (unless your network card is faulty), graphics settings, etc. but your connectivity. Either directly in your household or further down the line to your ISP, etc. You can try various online network speed tests to check your upstream/downstream and latency first, as it may discover the general problem quickly (as I see 98ms on your screenshot) and there is possible that nothing is wrong with your local network, but your outside connection/service has a high latency in general (and you may need to contact your ISP about it).
