Practice makes perfect!
there is a few ways to help with your aim if needed and that's Combined Arms play that on the easy level then work your way up and see if you can improve your aim as well as movements and feel for the weapons

Also have a look at your settings, you can set the same settings as battlefield 1 if you made any adjustments.

That's where combined arms come into play!

First off, don't worry about your kill/death ratio - not only does Battlefield focus less on that than other titles like CoD, there are tons of other options available for you to become a great asset to your team (you can literally top the scoreboard with 0 kills and deaths for example).

You just need to find your niche; there was a time I was 2nd in Canada for knife kills and dogtags taken for example - I began to focus less on long-range weapons and turned to a more close quarters approach with higher rates of fire. @Real_Noobalishus is an ace pilot in the Pheonix league so he'll be your go-to for everything with wings, and there are tons of people on Twitter willing to throw in their two cents as well.

The single-frame deaths are a by-product of the weird TTK/TTD we've found ourselves in - basically, there was a back and forth on what people deemed balanced and now we're stuck; what happens to you also happens to other people so just make sure you shoot first and don't let go of the trigger until they are more than dead 😛

Biggest thing I can suggest is taking the time to learn the maps and their hotspots. When in doubt stick to your squad mates and never push until you're absolutely certain you are safe.

I'm extremely partial to the Lewis gun, the Model 37 shotgun, ZH-29, and my absolute #1 pick from BF1: the M1907 rifle for Assault class; you honestly can't go wrong with anything from the medic class (and self heals are great).

You can always level up your weapons in solo (or mp) Combines Arms at a slower rate if you are having trouble, and I suggest opting for hip fire routes on guns until you find your bearings.

Most important thing overall though is to just go at your own pace and have fun

Good question! Many of us are asking that same thing.  I'm starting to get better. I usually get 1-2 kills. But one 'reply' you got was akin to what I'm seeing as I'm getting better.

Don't rush into something, especially after you died and respawn, take time as you can. Yet, there are other moments you have to be aggressive by moving slowly with your gun sites up ready to fire. Many times I can't see them in time to get my gun up before they kill me...not fun.  I liked what that same reply said, learn a play style that works for you and if you can, stick with groups of people.  I found being medic and engineering support with a group can be kind of exciting!

There are players here that are so fast, so good, they run and fire hip, they know the maps and every hiding and cranny to fire at you, they use gadgets like grenades effectively too, and teams that keep winning run around killing in groups of 4 to 5 -- I've noticed.

After respawn I'm going to try to get with a group of 2 at least and try to work together and certainly remember they might be in a 'nook and cranny' on the floor with gun aiming just waiting for me to poke my head up!

It's fun and many times aggravating. At times it's a #$#@@ game, but, enough excitement in it, and a 'real' factor, and enough success if you learn from the constant dying that you can find out what works better?

You will most likely die a lot though every time you play but less when correctly with working with teams.

Wow, great recommendations by all. Some of these suggestions have already been made, however, they are a few of the things that helped me. If you believe the issue is with hit registration, then troubleshoot your connection. There might be some lag due to high latency or packet loss. Take a look at Troubleshooting your Battlefield V connection and check out the in-game tools. 

A higher connection speed lowers your ping and a slow speed will give you high ping plus more lag. Check your ping bars. 0-20 ms is low ping, excellent, and what you want. 50 ms is very good, 100 ms is average, and 150+ is high ping and may get you kicked from a game or disconnected from the server. Play multiplayer, go to advanced search, pick a game mode and map, then view games. Try to pick a game with low ping.

You may be more successful playing with a squad and try switching between different modes. Breakthrough is fast-paced, Conquest is more slow-paced, and Grand Operations is played with several maps and modes over multiple in-game days. Maybe try playing on a bigger map at a slower rate. You could play Al Sundan which is a large map and the tempo is slow-moderate or Hamada which is very large and speed is moderate. You can also use an Extended Magazine Specialization on certain weapons for more ammunition and less reloading. Read the BFV Guide, play single-player War Stories, train in the Practice Range and most important, have fun! I actually got nearly 10 kills and died around the same amount. Could be that I ended up playing with people who have my skill level, or then my aim just improved. I don't really know lol. As for combined arms, it feels like that even at the hardest difficulty level the bots are still significantly easier to kill than most human players. Obviously the hardest difficulty in combined arms is a bit too hard for me to finish but I'm still able to mow down a dozen of npcs before I get killed myself.

After you play for a while you will eventually just get better. One of the most important thing is knowing your way around the maps. This will definitely help you to become a more successful Battlefield player. Also, if you haven’t already, add some specializations to your favorite weapons, this should help your guns to be more powerful and accurate. I hope this helped!

0. Get yourself a precise mouse.

1. Practice in single player until you feel comfortable with the controls / aim. You don't have to be super good.

2. Be tactical and put yourself into situations where reaction time doesn't matter. Camp more / ambush when advancing. And don't run around like a headless chicken, go from cover to cover.

3. Finally if you show progress you might consider into investing a proper monitor 27" 144Hz 1440p with the necessary hardware upgrades as an addition.
