In-game Movement and Sounds

So this is something I don’t truly understand how it works in gameplay.

So clearly sprinting makes a lot of noise, to the point players who have played this game enough know an enemies footsteps and can pinpoint where they are.

However, does moving while crouching or prone make you completely silent, or hard to hear?

Example: Rotterdam, if you’re on a floor above an enemy and they’re below you, but you’re moving while crouched but not sprinting, would they still hear your character’s footsteps, or is it completely silent and they don’t know you’re there?

  • There is no silent movement in game. Even when just looking around when prone for example, your body is moving and making noise.

  • @iamwienr That’s pretty lame, I guess moving slowly while crouched doesn’t even have any real purpose then.
    Well, thanks for the answer.
