Mouse and Keyboard stops working intermittently

I have this issue with BF5 where the game intermittently stops taking in keyboard and mouse inputs. It happens randomly but frequently enough to make multiplayer unplayable. It only happens with BF 5, other games do not have this problem so it's not an issue with my i/o devices. I disabled all overlays (discord, Nvidia, origin) but that didn't help.

I play on Asus ROG Strix G512LI laptop with Intel i7 10th gen, 24GB RAM, Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650, Samsung 970 EVO Plus 1TB. I use the laptop's keyboard and Razer Basilisk v2 mouse. I tried to play with another mouse but that did not solve the issue either. Could anyone kindly tell me if it can be fixed?

  • Hi @raza017

It sounds like there might be something taking window focus away from the game, based on what you described.

Have you had the chance to try starting up your PC in a Clean Boot to see if that makes a difference? If there is something else running that might be causing this to happen that may help get around it.

You can find more information on how to set up a Clean Boot over at the EA Help website. Once you've had the chance to give this a try please let me know how it goes. Thanks!

    Hey @Gholdnor

Do you have any other input devices connected to your PC? If so, can you try disconnecting all input devices other than your main mouse and keyboard to test and see if that makes any difference?

  • Also having this issue, thought I was going mad. Only seemed to start happening for me since Windows 11 upgrade. Not 100% about that but it's roughly the right time I installed it.

No other changes, peripherals all the same.

I have the same issue since I switched to windows 11 , It just stops working sometimes and I have to repress the key again . It's pretty annoying.

@MancmaniakDeleting Origin and installing The EA desktop app , fixed this keyboard issue for me . You're gonna have to reinstall the games I think , But turning off origin in game didn't fix it for me , After I installed the new EA desktop Beta app , it was fixed. Now I can move normally again. I also started having these issues after w11 installation  . It was a clean install.
