Periodic short FPS drops

Hey guys! Recently I updated my windows and switched to DX12. Game looks better and performs better for me, I could finally turn off FF rendering and still be at constant 60+ FPS, however, once a minute or maybe more frequently, my fps dips to single digit for maybe half a second. It's super annoying. I enabled video memory limit, it didn't help. Or maybe it helped just slightly, by making the mini freeze less frequent.

Any ideas? Ryzen 1500x, 16GB, GTX750 Ti.

Sadly, I got rid of any overlays while troubleshooting other problems in the past, I don't have a single overlay running. It keeps on infuriating me, it's so random and so unsystematic that I honestly have no clue where it might be coming from. There's no overheating, plenty of RAM left and everything else just works fine except for those constant dips

Check your NVIDIA control panel settings @rinleez , it kept setting everything to maximum every time that I updated the driver. On my rig I have an older processor so I made sure physX calculations were done on my GTX1060 6GB instead of my processor, made sure power was at max performance and put 3D settings on balanced and the stutter that you described almost went away completely.

  • Hey @rinleez,

Thanks for all the information you've provided.

Have you tried turning off the Origin in-game Overlay, and any other Overlays you might be using such as Discord, Nvidia GeForce Experience, etc?

Let us know if this helps.

    Thanks 🙂

  • Anyone? I noticed it also happens in main menu sometimes...
