TLDR -Windows 10 Anti-malware might be causing disconnects. I was following the recommend network resets via command line and other things in the past. The latest one only stopped after I disabled some 'protection' but that was alast resort after following all other recommendations.
I have a pretty solid connection considering its DSL over phone line its not much slower than when I was paying for cable. My system is built on older hardware and even small fluctuations in system resources can be noticable. But overall for the past year its been stable but only with wragling after major windows 10 updates. The last Windows10 rollout was a few weeks ago but it was not obvious whether the two were related. It took a while but I finally traced down the app which seemed to proc simultaneously with disconnects. It turns out it was a windows system call and it may have been triggered by the anti-malware. Instead oof rolling back any features I just disabled some of the more advanced protections that might have been associated but I am not sure. However, the problem has not returned yet and its been a few days.
Everything would be fine and then I would start getting disconnected every few minutes so it was unplayable. If it comes back Ill ppost more details, Mostly adding this for notes and comparison experiences.
