Re: CTD when DirectX 12 is enabled

I would recommend that you reinstall DirectX. When you say fresh install did you do a role back or did you wipe your hard drive that had Windows on it?

  • Drive wipe of all my drives. First thing I did after installing all Windows updates and device drivers was to try BF5 and the same problem persisted. For the sake of thoroughness, I also did a GPU driver wipe before installing the latest NVIDIA drivers.

I also recently found out that a friend of mine is having the same issue with DX12 enabled. He also gets better frame rates and smoother gameplay with it on, but it results in crashes at random times. He also disables DX12 to alleviate the issue. I'msure what video card he's using... I'll ask next time I talk to him.

Hey @FrapFreak, looking on the dxdiag its saying you are on windows Build 17134. Have you tried the 1809 windows build, we have seen reports improves performance with this update. 🙂

  • Hi @EA_Atic, it's apparently not yet my turn to get the latest update. I will see if I can force it and if not, I will report back once it's rolled out to me. Thanks.
