Re: Game Keeps Crashing don't know what to do HELP!

Well you won’t want to know what my solution is...as it’s an expensive one!!

so after doing a bit more reading I started to look at memory leak issues people have bemoaned over this game and previous.  Following my crashing which was minutes usually to hours it looked like the ram usage was hitting well over my installed 16GB.

Now maybe it was a problem with my RAM but having not experienced this crash to desktop with no message in other titles I doubt it.

I just installed 32GB of RAM on Monday and since then I have not experienced a random crash to desktop with no message since.  I’ll continue to test this over the week but so far so good.

16GB should be more than sufficient and it certainly points towards a coding issue as these leaks shouldn’t happen but for now at my added expense it looks to be resolved.

  • i unistall the VCREDIST 2017 and install those of battlefield folder and its works no more crashing for me

  • Too bad for us, I've also been running 32GB of RAM for some time now. I still can't run at XMP profile without crashes.

Does the 32Gb of RAM help at all?

Ive tried nearly everything and still get random crashes.

Its defo on EA / BF5 side, Today i played 9am my time and it was fine, played in the middle of the day when it was busy ( long server waiting etc ) and it crashed 5 times.

Played again earlier this evening ( around 5pm ) for 3 maps and no crashes.

Something is up here for sure!! Can we have an ETA on a FIX ASAP?

    Or any "new" suggestions.

    CPU: i7 8700

    GPU: Geforce RTX 2080 8G

Hey @V--FENRIR--V, I'm the forum admin here. @EA_Blueberry asked me to look into your missing posts.

According to your profile you made 24 posts in total on AHQ. 22 of those you can see on your profile here: https://answers.ea.com/t5/forums/recentpostspage/post-type/message/user-id/14878193

The missing 2 are in our Spam Queue:

Because, you know, when you try to post the same text in the same thread within only a few minutes, the forum thinks you are spamming. I'll go ahead and mark these posts as non-spam and will then remove one of them as duplicate.

That all being said ... I can only advice you to read the Forum Rules & Guidelines again. Specific the sections that deal with discussing moderation, calling out people, and ... well ... spamming.

  • So then editing was the problem. I made several edits within a short time frame on the same post... So the forum software apparently identified that as multiple posts. Good to know... That wasn't evident when the post just disappeared. So... I'll apologize for that accusation at least.

As for calling out... I don't feel the need to concern myself with it. You lot have been useless here. You're not communicating with us effectively at all. You're leaving many paying customers here wondering just exactly WHY they're wasting their time and giving you money for this game when your dev team has done such an incredibly POOR job in quality control.

When you have issues with your game that requires us to disable the very functions that we purchase our hardware for in order to run it, you are doing something TERRIBLY incorrect.

It has been far long enough. We've waited. We've all spent HOURS of our time trying to track down the issue. We've essentially done the job that your devs were SUPPOSED to be doing. What has our return on this investment been? NOTHING meaningful. Frustration otherwise.

I spent my ENTIRE 10 hours of trial play trying to keep the game running for more than a few minutes without crashing. Had I actually made the full-on purchase, I would have requested a refund after only a few hours of banging my head against the wall like that.

Does EA just NOT care about this? (0_o)
(^ Rhetorical question. I don't care to be consoled with PR babble.)

You OWE us better information and meaningful progress updates. Not this FLUFF we've been getting handed. Many of us don't HAVE much time to sit down and play... So when we DO, we SURE don't expect to deal with THIS.

And yet... HERE WE ARE. So...yes. Given that THIS is what we've PAID MONEY for... EXPECT to be called out until you can give us some semblance of information that DOESN'T equate to appeasement and/or pacification.

I 100% agree with you! This is EA after all and they will never look into this. I went through a weeks worth of fixing this game only to have it not work. I listened to their "specialists" and reset my PC because they claimed that was the fix, obviously nothing came of it.

I have come to terms with my game not working because the same thing happened with Battlefield 1. One thing I'm happy about is that I didn't buy it through Origin so they didn't get my money. I will NEVER buy anything from them again and everyone else should vote with their wallets. If they're not adding a million micro-transactions into games, then they are just not putting in the time to make sure they work.

Just a conclusion for everybody who reads this might be a possible fix if it matches my scenario.

Nothing on this post helps https://pc-mac-help.com/blog/battlefield-5-crashing-freezing-and-connectivity-issue-on-pc

    What I did was:

    1. download MSI Afterburner

    2. Downgrade your GPU:

     * Core clock by -105

     * Memory clock by -105

My game was crashing in main menu after few minutes before this change. So far no crashes since I downgraded the GPU. Just in case someone is wondering I turned back my XMP profile on with RAM/CPU overclocks back in place.

OBVIOUSLY there is a game issue which doesn''t allow us to use the full potential of our money spent on hardware. DICE LOOK AT THE ABOVE and try to find what is wrong with the game.

Thank you! Downclocking my GPU has helped me. Certainly a temporary fix and might not be 100% fool proof but its something.

  • I did as you said and the game seems to be working now. I've only played 1 game so far which is 1 game more than I could play before. It would be nice to actually get a proper response from Dice or EA but I highly doubt they will ever do that. Thanks for this quick fix tho!

  • I played yesterday for 3 hours with my XMP profile off. Seemed there wasn’t large waits for games etc like today. Today with the same settings I’ve crashed 3 times.

Tried underclocking gpu and memory to -105 got into a game and crashed before I can deploy.

Something seriously wrong on the developers side/servers etc
