Screen consistently minimizes with mouse stuck at top left corner

First of all I don't know if this is a technical issue or a bug but upon further research among other forums this seems to be a reoccurring issue for some.

To summarize things, my game tabs out or I guess minimizes multiple times during game-play. Whether I'm in the menus or in a match, to no avail it will do this whenever I play the game. I have never experienced this game once without it happening.

Not only does it minimize the game but the mouse cursor will then be stuck in the top left corner of my screen in which I need to click once first to be able to move it once more.

I can't for the life of me figure out what this is caused by as it does not happen in any other game I have played except possibly Apex Legends ( but was only random and not consistent as with BFV). This led me at first to think it was a issue with Origin, but even with it completely disabled it still happened regardless. I thought it may have been an issue with having 2 monitor set up but I'm only playing the game on my primary monitor and this doesn't seem like a valid reason. I have also updated the drivers to the most recent and rolled it back to see if it was a driver issue and it still keeps happening.

My pc runs a 2080ti, i9 9900k, with 64gb of ram, I run on 1920x1080 resolution with settings at low for best performance. I will attach a DxDiag as well if any info will be helpful.

It a very frustrating issue and I can't seem to find anything with some sort of substantial info on how to resolve this. Hopefully you have some info on how to deal with this.

On a side note I also get an occasional crash to desktop with no error report and didn't know what  the cause of that could be either.

  • @thottytrick I am not fully sure what you have going on but a few things come to mind on what could be doing it so please give all of this a try.....

EDIT... Also if you run BFV with DXR on turn it off for testing to see if you still get the same issue. Also ingame set your screen to borderless if not done already.

    Disable Origin in game:
In Origin - Application settings - Origin in Game - disable Origin in game

Origin Cloud Storage turn it off
    Origin, settings, General

Try a clean boot : run a Clean Boot: https://support.microsoft.com/en-ca/kb/929135 >This should ensure that no programs are interfering in the background.

Thanks for the response, I disabled origin and turned off cloud save and it still does it. Unfortunately

@thottytrick It could be Realtek HD Audio doing it nothing but issues with it in the ROG forums :/ I quit installing it years ago and just install my headphone drivers, Also, try borderless  screen in video BFV. Also turn off DXR at the top in advanced video settings in BFV its still broken if you have it on. Did you test the clean boot as well? EDIT>>>As well as make sure windows is updated and all drivers your PC needs are new. Whats the error in your PC event viewer say?

This write up I did may help you https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues/Fixed-on-2-PC-W-I9-9900K-Kernallbase-dll-error-BFV-I-hope-one/m-p/7800701#M12280
