Why is my team always dominated?

In 2018, I reported on always ending up on the losing team, "proving" my claims with having only a 13% winrate in breakthrough. I, as many others did that year, pointed out that we were constantly "placed" on the losing team. The problem wasn't losing, it was being dominated to the point that it wasn't fun. On defense, my team would last 5-10 minutes before game over, on attack we would spend more time in spawn than on the objectives. This would happen every single round, every game where my team would get steamrolled, over multiple days.

It might have been mistaken as a joke, an exaggeration. It wasn't. I also pointed out the unlikelihood of losing so many times in a row, despite my efforts accounting for only 1/32 of the team's. Google "constantly losing bfv" for other similar reports.

So I started playing again in 2021, and am disappointed that this is still an issue. Breakthrough is still frustrating and hopeless. It's like a surreal nightmare where you're trying to run in quicksand. My team is steamrolled every single game this weekend.

My question is this: What has EA done to verify or alleviate the issues reported in 2018? What is the cause of these issues?, and what's the plan going forward with future releases?

inb4 git gud, I'm only 1/32 of the team

  • It is mostly determined by one's own behavior. Going into a running round means that 90% of the time you get into the team that has just been defeated.
Playing solo without a squad means that you stand for auto balance in the first place.
Staying in a strongly inferior team certainly doesn't change anything.
So try to get to a server where the round is just starting. Play in a squad and, if possible, change teams / servers.
  • No fun in playing the game anymore, two matches and I'm done with BF:V for another two or three months before I try again. It doesn't feel like Battlefield anymore,  but some defective mutation of what tried to be a battlefield game. Back to BF4.
