3 New Offensive Play Suggestions - Boise State vs Oklahoma 07 Fiesta Bowl
The 2007 Fiesta Bowl was one of the most iconic games of all time! In the 4th quarter and OT, Boise State pulled off 3 amazing plays to help them secure victory against the Sooners.
Some of you may have seen them before, but for those who have not, here is a video showing all 3, with the times of the play given below:
2007 Boise State vs Oklahoma Ending (youtube.com)
PLAY 1 - THE LATERAL (1:17 - 1:49)
This was the game-tying touchdown play by Boise that sent the game to overtime.
PLAY 2 - SLIDE AND SLIP (3:32 - 3:41)
Needing a 1st down in OT, Boise dialed up a "slide and slip" to respond to Oklahoma's previous score.
PLAY 3 - STATUE OF LIBERTY (3:43 - 3:55)
Rather than prolong the game to further OTs, Boise risked it all with the creative "Statue of Liberty handoff" to complete the upset over Oklahoma and firmly cement themselves as CFB legends.
I know that the team has a lot of bugs and technical fixes that are the current priority, but would it be possible to get these plays/formations added to the game? For balancing sake, perhaps they could be included in other offensive playbooks besides Boises, or maybe be one of the 1st "historic playbooks" to make it into the game.
What do you all think?
