Auto Subs For Wear-and-Tear

Auto subs is useful. Being able to have guys who are tired go to the bench automatically until they’re back to ready is a great concept. The problem is that fatigue is significantly less important than injuries. While I love the wear-and-tear system, it’s frustrating to have to manually sub out every player who needs a bit to recover when I’m only given the in-game time between plays to do so. This is especially bad on defense, when you only have 10-15 seconds to pick a formation, sub people, and pick a play. Now imagine after you sim a drive or a game and the CPU doesn’t make those adjustments for you. I’ve had 4 guys get to severe risk for injury before in one super simmed drive. My guys shouldn’t risk getting hurt every time I want to skip a possession. Auto subs for fatigue thresholds are nice, but auto subs for wear-and-tear thresholds are incredibly important. That would be a huge addition to the game.

  • And so simple too. They already have that window in the top right showing the player's wear and tear status. They should allow you to have buttons up there that will sub him out for 1, 3, or 5 plays.

That would be a nice in-game option too. But I’d personally prefer to be able to put anyone who has even a slightly increased risk of injury on the bench instantly. Just as you can set a player who falls under 70 for fatigue to go sit out for awhile instantly.

  • Yeah, and I've had two games where I moved the player with wear and tear down the depth chart, and after I brought him back to the top of the depth chart he never saw the field

He wasn't listed as injured, but he never returned to the game despite being #1 on the depth chart at all the RB positions.  Wear amd Tear is cool...if there's a simple way to decision it.  Like players with minor injuries leave until they recover so why don't I get a similar choice with wear and tear to pull the player until he's recovered.  Maybe it's a choice of "hold out until....fully recovered....partially recovered....keep in game" etc.
