After having this game for a couple of days now and having the nostalgia wear off....... I have questions EA. First couple of days all I did was play RTG and complete that game mode, played a few play now matches, messed around in Practice. Overall, the gameplay is smooth, animations seem pretty good, although the hurdle animation in its current form is very OP. Either way, the gameplay is awesome. That aside, please tell me why in the world can we not create a player !?!?!?!?!?!? You're telling me I can create a fictional character in RTG and play 4 seasons with him, but it's a no go for dynasty? C'mon guys, on top of that the player editing is absolutely horrible. You spend more time trying to find teams that have a few players that can even be edited than you spend time actually editing players and ratings. Why is that? NIL? If it is in fact NIL I still don't understand why or how that affects the people of play the game. It is a VIDEO GAME, it's not like we are actually altering these players true to life trajectory with our decisions in dynasty mode. Also, why in the world can we not create a recruit!?!?!?!? Seriously, maybe you can feed the NIL b.s to us for the generic roster, but to not be able to create a recruit to bring them into your dynasty? Why? This game has the potential to be an absolute powerhouse, yet some features that were standard back as far as 2006 are not available in college football 2025! The whole reason I bought this game was to put the time in on dynasty and build a team to my liking and my schemes. If I want to create a God Like QB, LET ME. Same goes for any position on the field. It is absolutely ridiculous that you cannot create players, edit players FULLLLLYYYYYY, create a recruit, edit recruits, all due to NIL stuff. After you sell us the game, it is no longer your problem with what WE choose to do with rosters. It's no different than tuning platforms for vehicles, whether it be HP tuners, EFI live, EZ Lynk, Subaru EDIT....... You create the game, give us the ability to make the experience our own, let us create a powerhouse school with all 99 players, or a .5 star school with 65 OVR players to build over a 4-year period. Point is, stop restricting what we can do. I really don't understand NIL, outside of y'all using players likeness in past games, now that the ones who are the NCAA25 have agreed to be in the game I really don't see the issue with editing players nor do I see the problem with creating a player. If guys are torn up about how they look in a video game on some streamers live content I'm sorry....... It's a game, we are not making real life decisions here that impact these players in any way.... Give us the ability to get creative and really make this game our own.
For those that aren’t aware yet, we can’t create a player outside of RTG. But we are able to edit most of the “fake” players on the rosters. For example, the fullback for Oklahoma isn’t a real player at all. You’re able to go in and change his name, position, ratings, and physique. As of Thursday, we can’t change numbers, skin tone, face, hometown, or grade, like freshman, sophomore, etc. Supposedly with the patch on Friday, numbers will be changeable. We’ll have to wait and see on that.
For dynasty, after you sign all your recruits and they’re officially on your roster, yes you can edit their ratings and everything else.

You can edit the ratings and gear, no edit of the face, hair , facial hair or hometown. Full editing is wanted
- sfbassfishing2 years agoRising Rookie
I understand that. I want it to. I was mainly explaining that to the people that don’t know about it.
I very much want full customization. And supposedly the new patch coming Friday will add more customization to it. What we’re able to edit right now is still better than not being able to edit anything at all.

Agree with you 100%. I do have disappointment with what I feel to be a half assed release
- 2 years ago@sfbassfishing I want actually most editing of hairstyles and faces. They should really put this in

I would love full editi g but if for NIL reasons we have to choose then just give us skin color editing. That way the recruits can .ake more sense and we EA will not get in NIL trouble. Leat go EA patch the game! Fix the editing!
FIX THE EDITING FOR RECRUITS!!!!!

Just so everyone knows this isn't true. You can not edit ratings in offline dynasty that I've seen at all. Maybe you can in online dynasty (which if that's the case that's a really stupid design decision). What you have seen about being able to edit "NPC" stand in players or fake players is true. You can not edit the numbers at present so on some rosters there are currently RBs with numbers in the 80s and WRs with numbers in the 30s and 40s.
Also in the pursuit of realism EA should've added se sort of strength training or weight gain logic into progression. So when you start your dynasty with that 275 pound stud FR tackle, be prepared for him to be a 275lb stud tackle as a JR or SR as well.
Position changes are available for non NIL players at anytime. I'm not sure about the NIL players though. If so make sure you do that in the "preseason" window.
I haven't even started a dynasty yet (to actually play) because of all of the testing I've been doing. Another thing if you're a stat head, you're going to see some explosive numbers.

Thanks for clarifying that buddy.
Does anyone know what you can edit for sure after you sign the recruits????????

So I just skipped through a season in online dynasty and I can confirm that you can't edit ratings for anyone. Gear can be edited for real players and that's it. Gear, height, weight and body frame (the visual changes of body are nominal at best outside of weight) can be edited for new recruits and AI generated players in the base roster only. No numbers still (supposedly coming in tomorrow's patch) and certainly no ratings.
Also disregard my comment earlier about stats. It seems like the game has Madden's sim stat engine. QBs are eating up RB carries which wouldn't matter too much if the YPC reflected college football numbers. Most decent backs will be in the 4ypc range, really good ones will be above 5ypc but that's even situational. I've seen Judkins multiple times avg less than 5ypc and he's in the 90s. The 2nd back barely gets the ball and ypc are super low most of the time for them as well. Almost all QBs will be at 4ypc or lower, even the ser I've academy QBs and w/o rating edits there's no way to fix this. Upsets are serious. I've skipped through like 5 or 6 seasons (of the 2024 season only as to test the base roster) and I've yet to see any undefeated teams. I've also frequently seen teams with 4 and 5 loses in the final top 25 poll.
I'm not dumping on the game. It's fun to play and is pretty good on the field. It does things to seperate itself from Madden, but when you pop the hood and start picking apart dynasty mode you'll see some of the vestiges of bad Madden franchise legacy code. Everyone is different and what they want from the game is different, there is still fun to be had with this game and I'm still so glad this game is finally here.

Can you change the names of the new recruits also???
Yes you can change the names and do position changes as well.

I typed up a really detailed post about sim stats, but I think it got removed. That sucks because it took some time to compile the data and now it's just gone.

So in dynasty after the first year you can edit ?
Ok so can you please specify what you can edit??? And not edit after the first year??

We must unite and ask for more editing powers. This has the potential to be a great game. But if we can't edit recruits then how can we keep playing the game. We need to edit the name, skin, jersey #, height weight and body. Let's tell EA that wee need it we want it. We got to have it. !!!!!!! Please!!!!! Let's be nice but be demanding after all we are the ones that pay for the game.

How and when can you edit the new recruits? I've tried and couldn't.
- GREENBAYBLACKER11 months agoNew Novice
Can we get a transaction log or something? In these online comp leagues commissioners can edit players all willy nilly with no one knowing. I also think dynasty mode needs a patch so users can't edit physiques at will. Its alot of 6'6 corners and wide receivers now. The integrity of these dynastys are being tested.

I agree online dynasty should not be like offline.

Hi everyone,
Just wanted to drop in here and share that the title update on the 29th of August added the ability to edit ratings for non-NIL players and recruits.
Check out this Campus Huddle article for more details about the August 29th College Football 25 Title Update.

This is great news thanks for finally fixing thus. Now since we can't change recruits skin color we need EA to fix the recruits. We need more black wr and less white players for example. We need less black kickers and more white kickers. Common EA This should be obvious fix for new recruits.

Any word on recruit generation?
Every class (without fail) has a middle aged man with a beard as my top corner prospect!
This is seriously killing the experience for me.

You can edit everything but the hair style, skin color and face of the new recruits in dynasty. Weird decision as this has no effect in NIL. These are computer generated players 🤷🏾♂️
