CFB 25 Strip Ball Question

Yesterday I was playing an online game. It was close, going down to a last second field goal. I was ahead by 1 point, on defense, and it was 4th and 9. The offense threw a short pass to the sideline, about 5 yards, and I had two players come up to the player with the ball, (I user-controlled both of them, one at a time) and both of them missed the tackle, so he got a first down, kicked a field goal, and won the game. 

Later, I realized I had set the Strip Ball to "Aggressive" earlier in the game. 

Here's my question: If I set the strip ball to "Aggressive" when I am in the game and I am user-controlling a player and press X (on PS5) to tackle, shouldn't that override the strip ball settings and make a conservative tackle?
