Something I just thought of but I'm not sure on how they could implement it into the game is having to pay to play an FCS team. Maybe next year they could implement something into Recruiting where you have both money and hours to spend on recruits and spending money to play an FCS team would take away from being able to spend money on recruits.
Yes, they could even set up a budget that we could allocate to recruitment, but also to improving the ratings of other aspects of the university, such as campus life, academic standards, and upgrading the stadium, etc., to make the university more attractive to recruits. The money would be earned based on sports performance, etc.
