You just have to audible into the play you want - usually from run to pass or pass to run. Yeah, the "AI" is just matching your play. It's fun to make the D line up in goal line by calling a QB sneak on 4th and 20.
The fan meter prevents audibles or hot routes from being called on away games. You can't even get to see which button is which pre snap for passing. The game just sets itself to "lol you lose", with QBs breaking two man wrap up tackles, your receivers running out of bounds with 0 yards to gain, you r o line deciding you called a screen play every down. The game is intentionally sabotaged trash.
