Defense Reaction to QB runs

It seems zone defenders stay in coverage too long after the QB runs past the line of scrimmage. Their reaction is very late. Anyone else experience this?

    Part of the reason for this might be that before the QB crosses the LOS you have to press the R3 button (On Playstation) and then a defender in a zone or spy will start to charge the QB. It gives you the ability to determine when you want your defense to react.
