Depth Chart and subbing players

Why does the game keep players in who are hurt under the wear and tear mechanic if you change the depth chart. Example my RB became hurt and his stats suffered so I subbed him out. The next play he got injured and I lost him for the season. Is there something in the options menu I can fix that?

@quanteznc78 From what I was reading here, the subs on the depth chart are per-formation instead of all formations (I don't own the game yet, just based on what I had read here and reddit, I'm still waiting for some of this stuff to be fixed/changed).

So if you changed formation from shotgun to pistol [or whatever] they would have stayed/slotted in for the other formation. I'd be happy to be told I was wrong/ that isn't the way it works, just my understanding.
  • @Anobix It is and isn't. EA has coded certain formations to use certain personnel so all 3WR sets put the SLWR in the slot and a lot of goalline and heavy sets put the PWHB at RB instead of the generic HB spot. Sometimes it is intuitive and sometimes it's not. For my running backs I set all 3 charts to the same thing HB/3DHB/PWHB to avoid this issue entirely and make sure everything is even. However there is also a per formation sub you can do also which does permanently change that specific formation until you manually fix it back

  • You'll find additional HB subs at the very bottom of the position menu, below the defense. You have to make the change in every position that has an HB in it, or your worn and torn guy will stay in. Someone here explained that to me, or my backs would all be dead by now.

What I don't understand is why stamina is not affected by wear and tear. Auto-sub outs should happen when an arm falls off, right? How can my HB by >90% when he is so damaged he's at "grave risk" of an injury?
