Dropped passes, insane amount of interceptions, busted coverage, etc

Why will receivers not hold on to the ball? It doesn’t matter if the ball is contested or if the defender is 6 feet away, no receiver will hold on the the ball. I’ve never seen so many dropped passes. Then, it’s like there’s no way for receivers to get open. Almost every pass is contested. Can’t just drop a passin over a defender. There is no amount of leading a receiver to try to get the pass away from a defender. They always intercept it. I’ve NEVER had a game where I’m throwing 6-8 interceptions. It’s ridiculous. On the flip side of this, while on defense, the defenders (when NOT controlled by user) will completely blow coverages leaving an opponent wide open for a big play. I can’t count how many times I’ve a had a CB or safety just completely leave the play. They’ll run away from a receiver to the opposite side of the field leaving them open. I was so excited for this game. Been playing since ‘04. I can’t buy another one if it’s going to be this broken. There’s no point in wasting money.

I’m editing this to add in this issue I’ve just noticed and to tag EA:  what happened to the coin toss at the beginning of games? Why is it automatic now, and why is there no animation for it? It’s not anywhere near the top of the list of problems I’m having with this game, however 99% of the time I am forced to receive the ball based off a coin toss that I didn’t participate in nor did I even see it. I wouldn’t choose to receive it was up to me.

Sorry, you’re names are the only two I ever see or remember.

  • Yeah, it’s pretty bad Before the patch, I didn’t have a problem, throwing the ball after the patch became the problem

There is something though …but I haven’t tried it yet but I read something today that stated the adaptive AI in your your creating a coach is what causes that the game learns by the way you play to make it harder unfortunately I’m playing on varsity and I’m getting wiped The computer knows every play I pick I may have to just turn that off and try that way

  • Maybe expectations would need to be adjusted if I was upset by the presence of ANY dropped passes, which I am not. I’m all for realism. I prefer it. The issue, however, is that it’s completely unrealistic. It’s not that my receivers drop passes, it’s that they drop 98% of passes thrown. It’s not even as if they’re making an attempt to catch the ball and then physics, and body position, etc. cause them to drop it, it is lack of effort. They are not even attempting to catch the ball. My expectation would be for highly rated players to play like highly rated players, with the occasional realistic mistakes peppered in. The CPU doesn’t have dropped passes like this. CPU has realistic types and frequency of mistakes.

Is this in dynasty mode? I’m not only having this issue in dynasty mode, it’s every mode. I can’t find this setting you’re talking about.

@TideFan1892 what are you playing on hiesman? I haven’t had that experience on AA so that is interesting to see that going on with you

@darthcidious @ interesting to see this pointed out. I hadn’t realized that.

that said I try to mix up my plays and try to avoid using the same play time and time again. Especially with passing. I think if you limit it to using a play a handful of times per game and when you utilize the play you may be ok

the coaches suggestions however don’t do that at all

  • Absolutely they just keep the same plays going over and over I do run pro style but it’s the generic and it’s not as good of an offense that I like but it’s close to what I ran in ncaa 14 so familiarity with that helps

so far as I’ve seen when I turn off the AI it’s not as bad

  • @tm219

forgive me, but I’m not sure what you mean. If you mean the sliders, I’d have to look and see, though I’ve tried several different slider settings. If you mean the game mode, it’s all of them.

  • Why if you want your QB to be more accurate and stop the interceptions would you make your QB accuracy at 21?

Lowering the interceptions of the CPU is supposed to stop them from intercepting passes.  I put mine at ZERO  0    and they still pick them off...  so its believed that the sliders are flawed.

Same with injuries.   Putting the injury slider up to 60 and watch everyone get hurt.

Increasing the WR Catching will help with the dropped passes Ive noticed.
