I just wanted an updated ncaa 14 tbh!

Man, I don't even know where to start. I've been playing this college football game since I was a kid, and I loved how it improved every year from 2000 to 2014. I'm really grateful the series is being brought back, and I was as excited as everyone else when I bought the early release. Unfortunately, I'm very disappointed to say that EA has let me down with this game. It just doesn't capture the same magic that 14 did for me!

The immersion I felt playing 14, which mirrored the excitement of watching college football on Saturdays, is missing. One small but telling detail is the start times for west coast games. In 14, a 10pm game would begin with the sun still up, which really added to the realism. EA used to pay attention to those details, but that seems to be gone now. I could list many more issues, but I don't want to drag this out.

Overall, this game has fallen far below my expectations, and I can't see myself buying the next one. I'm sorry to say it, but I have to be honest.

  • Oh absolutely 14 by far was a better game. You could have your team builder in your off-line dynasty your coach could go practically anywhere he wanted if he if his prestige was up high enough the only thing that this game has over 14 is the graphics

Because those guys at revamped actually made a mod where you can reset the entire Top 25 poles, but it’s the entire pole all the one all the way down to. I think it’s 127. You can physically go in and put Teams where they should fit so a 10 oh Pac 12 team is up above a eight and two SEC team you can put them above them and they also made where you can make the college playoff all on your own so then there’s that aspect of the game, which makes it better

also, when you go, you can create a death penalty for a school and they get walk-ins which everyone knows walk-ins are 60 and below here lately what I’ve seen is the walk on that get on these teams are let’s say I’ve done some things to wear. I’ve taken a few of the top schools and dropped them to only like 29 players on the roster. Well when they go the game doesn’t physically give them walk-ins to get back to the 85 they just throw in a couple players here and there for those players are usually three star impact players. I mean they’re not. They’re not scrubs there. They’re good players that shouldn’t be shouldn’t be on there

@darthcidious I like some of your points here around the revamped. I’m an offline dynasty guy and I want all the customization we can get. Give us us control to force the polls, the playoffs, what school recruits choose, let us fully edit recruits, let us force coaching changes let us force award winners, let us do whatever we want in OFFLINE… why is this so hard for EA to understand…. Other studios are light years ahead of them in dynasty/franchise modes… look back on the boycott that took place on Madden and how quickly they came out they would be rebuilding that mode and voiced were heard. I guess we have to do the same here just to get features of a game from a decade ago?! For online dynasties give us a ton of sliders to customize the experience and all these force things can be turned off to avoid “cheating” for that side of the community. A lot of us played ncaa 14 offline to get immersed in our own world. That’s all I want. The new gameplay is fine graphics are neat, but I have went back to revamped for now and having more fun. I’m not really hopeful anything will change with EAs track record on anything outside of cash grab ultimate team.

I couldn’t agree more I want full immersion what’s what I got on on 14 this way I cared where my coaches went after they left me because I knew who they were here. I don’t really care cause they’re generated names. I never get to be the coach of the team I want unless I start out there and it’s pretty much pointless cause they’re already a good team so you start out at the bottom to work your way up, but for some reason this game’s got a block on it to where you can’t move according to them loudly to another school or take a job which they deemed beneath you, which is dumb. I think you should be able to go wherever you want, but I completely agree with whatever you said all of it was good. I play off-line as well and I choose to have a better experience playing 2014

@darthcidious crazy that all they had to do is put ncaa 14 on new engine and focus gameplay on it and it would have been greatest sports game of all time…. I’m afraid EA believes they did make the best sports game of all time by looking at its sales numbers which I pumped up due to a decade of not having it. Which worry’s me they won’t be putting much effort into next year. I pray I’m wrong but this is EA we are talking about. I also believe all their focus was on getting NIL deals done for real players. Which I could care less about. I mean it’s kinda cool but wouldn’t awesome if we could edit them as we do new recruits. I get tired of waiting on a 5 week roster update from them when the season is going. I’d like to just edit ratings of then during my dynasty when guys are going off in real life. None the less we have a long way to go and I will be avoiding buying 26 until I can see full video reviews of customization in dynasty before deciding if I buy or not. Hopefully I am not alone as if sales stay high we will never get the game we deserve.

  • @brad9211 @darthcidious My homeboys and I who have been doing dynasties together since we could even remember lol, talked about if we were buying '26 or not. I say I will purchase College '26, to give EA a chance to actually put in the work and all the features that were in '14 and or the majority of features that the community wants. We figured '25 would be shell of its self from what we are use too, and EVERYONE was going to buy just because its been 10 years since we had a college football game. Of course we were right lol. So if '26 is the same product with not major add ons or adjustments then that will be the last one we buy as a group and just continue to play '26 until further notice lol haha.

@Bekee21 I totally get that. I hope they do. I know I sound very negative I’m pulling for them to make it happen just as much as anyone. I just have been burned across all their games to many times to continue to be let down. It’s the old saying fool me once… That being said I will be the first one watching their release videos of 26 to see what they have done to decide if they get my money or not. Time will tell!

Hey everyone, thanks for commenting on my post. I love the conversation we started, but to be honest, I don’t have any plans to buy the next version. Unless I see a few things that pique my interest, but after my experience with the current version, I’m hesitant. It just didn’t live up to my expectations, and I felt disappointed. Unless I see some significant improvements, I don't plan on getting the new one, as I don't expect it to change much from what we got this time around.
